Hook laden track follows press & radio acclaim Rich Stephenson returns on 3rd August with Katie - the follow up to his top ten single Secret.
The song marks an evolution from his nimble acoustic sounds into ambient territory, without losing his talent for melodic hooks and epic choruses.
Rich has worked closely with BBC Introducing over the last year, capping off an extensive run of live dates (including Glastonbury and shared billings The XX and Ben Howard) with live sessions for Gaby Roslin at Broadcasting House (London), BBC Yorkshire and MediaCity (Salford). On top of that, he has stacked up an impressive amount of radio coverage, thanks to Secret being played nationally by the BBC and being playlisted on Amazing Radio, Virgin and the US college radio network.
“Katie is an intimate exploration into friendship.” Rich explains: “By taking out my acoustic guitars and adding brooding synths and rolling drum beats, I explore the reflective side of life.”
Rich is currently working on an album with producer Neil Scott (Everything But The Girl, Felt, Denim) and engineer John Spence (Happy Mondays, Sisters of Mercy) and will be Touring the UK this summer.
