Game Of Thrones Spin-Off To Film Pilot In Belfast





Production on Game Of Thrones final season may have recently wrapped, but the show must go on!

Local newspaperBelfast Telegraph revealed over the weekend that filming on the pilot for George R.R. Martin’s prequel series to the smash hit HBO show will begin in Belfast in October.

The prequel spin-off has the working title of 'The Long Night' and is set to film at Paint Halls studio, with has also been home to Syfy's Superman prequel series Krypton and of course a Star Wars spin-off next year.

The paper is reporting that this move is another boost for its growing TV and filming industry. "This is fantastic news for everyone at the studio - from the cast and the crew, right down to the riggers and the catering staff," they told Sunday Life.

Since Game Of Thrones began part of its filming in Belfast in 2010, it has brought millions of pounds to the local economy. Last weekend, the shows cast and celebrity fans descended onto Belfast's Waterfront Hall for a wrap party.

The final season of Game Of Thrones does not as of yet have a premiere date, but it has been confirmed it will air at some point next year.
