It had been much speculated over the last few days, and now it has been confirmed that Nicole Maines will indeed be on season 4 of The CW's superhero drama Supergirl.
Maines will join the fourth season of the Warner Bros. TV-produced drama as Nia Nal (aka Dreamer), a character described as a soulful young transgender woman with a fierce drive to protect others. Nia's journey in season four means fulfilling her destiny as the superhero Dreamer, which is similar to Kara's (Melissa Benoist) journey to become Supergir according to The Hollywood Reporter
Maines casting comes hot off the heels of the news that The CW is casting a lesbian actress to play Batwoman on its upcoming development, and that piece of casting will mark the first time a lesbian has been center of a TV series.
Also announced at Comic-Con was fellow new series regulars April Parker Jones (as Col. Haley) and David Ajala (as Manchester Black).
