PEY PEY & JËVA To Release New Single 'Falling' on 27th July

Unlike anything on the charts right now, Falling introduces fresh elements to the soundscape of the Australian contemporary scene.

Upon walking into a rehearsal and hearing the soulful chords of Sister Act, PEY PEY grabbed JËVA aside immediately and whispered, “we need to write a song like that”.

Having studied together at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (Meg Mac, Tim Minchin) the two frequently discussed the feelings of hopelessness, uncertainty and pressures of the road ahead to come in life and wanted to express these feelings through a song.

“Falling from glory, a story’s new lead.
Falling from lightning and fighting gravity.
Falling through dimensions and making
a home on the ground...”

The song was originally written as a piano ballad and explores different aspects of Falling… from heights, from dignity and the fear of losing everything even when you’ve “made it”. The song was then given new life with a lo fi hip-hop meets ambient electronic pop production by Adam Xycore (George Maple).

With plans to have a single launch mid July, PEY PEY & JËVA continue their respective paths in acting and songwriting pursuits respectively.

Falling is the first single off PEY PEY’s debut album the self, the you, the fall which is scheduled for release early 2019. It is also a teaser of JËVA’s debut mini album Typhoon, scheduled for release later this year.
