Having previously teased fans with a campaign which ranged from Instagram posts to a Times Square billboard, Shawn Mendes dropped his brand new song 'In My Blood' in the early hours of Thirsday morning. It's his first new music since 'Illuminate' was released in 2016. The song begins quietly but within the first minute reflects a new Rock influence in the Canadian singer-songwriter. Its roaring drums & cascading pre-chorus followed by the chorus evoke memories of Kings of Leon's 2007 hit 'Sex on Fire'.
The song was co-produced by Mendes and Teddy Geiger and co-written by the pair with longtime collaborators Scott Harris and Geoff Warburton, and is the first track to arrive from Mendes’ third full-length, expected later this year on Island Records.
