Black Lightning's Finale, Legion, [SPOILER'S] Eastenders Exit, Emmerdale & The Flash Are Our Picks For What To Watch Tonight

Black Lightning's debut season ends tonight and it's sure to go out with one heck of a bang. You can catch the action on The CW at 8pm and check out a sneak peek from the episode below.

BLACK LIGHTNING
“Shadow of Death: The Book of War” — (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, DLV) (HDTV)

THE SHOWDOWN – The aftermath of the showdown with Black Lightning (Cress Williams) leaves everyone reeling. Meanwhile, Tobias (Marvin Jones III) gathers his forces. Nafessa Williams, China Anne McClain, Christine Adams and Damon Gupton also star. The episode was written by Charles D. Holland and directed by Salim Akil (#113). Original airdate 4/17/2018.

Following at 9pm is The Flash and we can only hope 'Lose Yourself' is a massive improvement on 'Null and Annoyed' which to put kindly was a massive dude of an episode. There are rumours floating around with The CW increasing its broadcasting an additional 2 hours to airing on Sunday, and with the amount of shows it has on offer + the shows to be picked up, that a reduction in episode orders might be their best way to manage their beyond full plate. If this does prove to be the case, we can only hope the DC Shows are first on the list, because these shows do not need anywhere near 20+ episodes a season (Black Lightning & Legends of Tomorrow are a fine example of that)

THE FLASH
“Lose Yourself”— (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, LV) (HDTV)

RALPH CONSIDERS CROSSING A LINE TO DEFEAT THE THINKER — When Barry (Grant Gustin) and Team Flash find a way to enter The Thinker’s lair, Ralph (guest star Hartley Sawyer) considers crossing a dangerous line to defeat DeVoe. Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) is concerned by Harry’s (Tom Cavanagh) recent behavior. Hanelle Culpepper directed the episode written by Jonathan Butler & Gabriel Garza (#418). Original airdate 4/17/2018.

Away from Network TV and on Cable, the as always excellent Legion continues its fine 2nd season on FX at 10pm. I'd say that things are turning up a notch, but it's Legion. Things always escalating and going in unexpected directions is its norm.

Chapter 11
4/17/2018

David navigates the maze. Written by Noah Hawley & Nathaniel Halpern; directed by Sarah Adina Smith.

In the UK, there are (as is often the unfortunate case) not a whole lot of options for TV viewing tonight. If you're a football fan then Brighton vs Tottenham is on Sky Sports Premier from 7:30pm. If that's not your thing then you can watch Emmerdale at 7pm on ITV One. Last nights episode saw Liv trial, thanks to Joe's intervention, take an extremely bad turn. She's not the only one feeling the pressure as Lisa suffers a very bad turn, which you can watch a preview of below.

Zak piles on the pressure, Lisa resorts to drastic measures, and Laurel tries to honour a promise.

Finally on BBC 1 at 7:30 you can watch Michelle Fowler's final episode of Eastenders. It was previously reported that Jenna Russel would be bowing out of her role as Michelle Fowler, and it's fair to say that the news of her exit much like her entrance into the soap was greeted with a mixed reaction. Could Michelle Fowler's return have worked if she'd been given better material? Were the producers wrong for trying to bring her back with a new actress? (original actress Susan Tully has retired from acting to focus on directing). Away from all of that though, the build-up to Vincent's exit is stepping up a notch as you can see in the preview below.

Michelle is desperate to fix the mess she has got herself into, but it will mean revealing the truth about Hunter and Louise. Vincent starts pumping people for information on what happened to Luke, and Mel is annoyed with Woody and Billy as they continue their battle of oneupmanship. Ian is excited to hear a business investor is visiting the Square - but he is determined to keep the news from Masood.
