Georgia Meek Releases New Single 'Bare'

With BBC Radio 1 play for her previous releases, Black Dog and Anti Social, plus a live session on BBC Introducing’s The South and an emotive Sofar Sounds performance, Guildford’s newest queen of pop Georgia Meek returns with her first single of 2018: Bare - an honest account of female empowerment inspired by real events & written from the perspective of someone who’s just escaped an abusive relationship.

Bare sees Georgia’s sound develop from the electro-pop sound of her previous releases, to a more mature songwriting and production style on Bare with it’s piano led arrangement and gospel tinged vocals, resulting in this emotionally charged ballad with intense dynamics that travel from a compassionate whisper to a towering full
alto vocal.

“Bare was a very difficult song for me to put on paper” explains Georgia, “It touches on a very real, personal experience and I’m sharing it with the hope that it might liberate some other young girls like my retrospective self.”

With an audio premiere by major music & culture magazine Clash, Bare is Meek’s signal to the mainstream press that she is ready to stand up and be counted among the best of the upcoming pop artists in the UK.

Meek decided to go solo in early 2017 after a severe mental health episode compelled her to take a new direction with her music. What sets Georgia apart from her peers is how she manages to represent her undeniable character through her pop music, honest & brash, while telling tales of female empowerment surrounded with a
very real fragility.

Taking influence from a mix of artists including the great storytellers like Paul Simon and early Bob Dylan through to modern artists like Lykke Li, Salt Ashes
& Banks, Meek expresses herself passionately through her vocals & songwriting, as well as playing guitar and piano – all in all a true multi-instrumentalist whose focus is on raising awareness within her music of sensitive issues that affect women of all ages.

On the live front, Meek has a London date at the legendary Ronnie Scotts on Tue 24th April & will be performing in Brighton during The Great Escape at Hotel eliroco on Fri18th May.
