Coronation Street, Lucifer, Supergirl, Good Girls, iZombie & Plebs Are Our Picks For What To Watch Tonight

Following Legends of Tomorrow completing its 3rd season last week, Supergirl is returning to its 8pm Monday night slot on The CW. They're very much pulling out the big guns on the shows return with Laurie Metcalf (aka the true Oscar Best Actress winner) guest-starring as Winn's mother. A Winn focussed episode is always a pretty neat episode as it allows Jeremy Jordan to show off his acting chops and if the trailer is anything to go by, the episode should be a treat. You can find out more about the episode here

OSCAR-NOMINATED ACTRESS LAURIE METCALF GUEST STARS – When Winn’s (Jeremy Jordan) father dies, his estranged mother, Mary (guest star Laurie Metcalf), reappears trying to reconnect and to explain why she abandoned him all those years ago. Winn is too embittered from his rough childhood to forgive her but when a copycat Toyman attacks, the two must work together to stop him. Mon-El (Chris Wood) tells Kara (Melissa Benoist) something important about the Worldkillers, and Alex (Chyler Leigh) becomes suspicious of Myr’nn’s (guest star Carl Lumbly) recent behavior. Glen Winter directed the episode written by Caitlin Parrish & Derek Simon (#314). Original airdate 4/16/2018.

Following Supergirl is the always excellent iZombie at 9pm. It's fair to say we're a big fan of the show here at CONTROLRadioUK HQ. The show returned from a small break last week with an episode that very much broke from the norm, and whilst the trailer suggests this weeks affair will be a bit more standard, it still looks utterly hilarious.

IZOMBIE
“Don’t Hate the Player, Hate the Brain”— (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, DLV) (HDTV)

IN DA CLUB — After consuming the brain of a bachelor playboy, Liv (Rose McIver) heads to a club to meet up with Clive (Malcolm) and Ravi (Rahul Kohli). Meanwhile, Major (Robert Buckley) is assigned an enormous task. Lastly, Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) is still struggling with the arrangement he’s made with Bozzio (guest star Jessica Harmon). David Anders, Aly Michalka and Robert Knepper also star. Tuan Quoc Le directed the episode written by Sara Saedi (#407). Original airdate 4/16/2018.

Keeping with the DC theme but over on Fox, at 8pm you can watch Lucifer. The trailer for 3x21 has already leaked and got fans worked up into a frenzy. This season has been a bit of a muddled affair at times which we have mentioned previously, and one can only hope that the season finishes strong with a 4th season not guaranteed.

A MYSTERIOUS GUARDIAN ANGEL CAUSES LUCIFER TO WORRY ON AN ALL-NEW "LUCIFER" MONDAY, APRIL 16, ON FOX

Lucifer and Chloe investigate a murder during which a witness claims a winged guardian angel saved her life, causing Lucifer to become paranoid about his own actions. Meanwhile, Pierce and Chloe's relationship takes an interesting turn and Lucifer discovers something that could change everything in the all-new "The Angel of San Bernardino" episode of LUCIFER airing Monday, April 16 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (L-316) (TV-14 D, L, S, V)

Over on NBC at 10pm is of course Good Girls. You can read an advance preview of the episode here and with 2 episodes left of its debut season, it'll be extremely interesting to see how everything wraps up (I know I say that a lot when talking about Good Girls but come on! The show is absolutely batsh-t always throwing twists at us who knows how it'll end?!)

"GOOD GIRLS"
"SHUTDOWN"

04/16/2018 (10:01PM - 11:00PM) (Monday) : Rio’s (Manny Montana) feeling the heat from the FBI investigation, so he abruptly shuts down operations, cutting off Beth (Christina Hendricks), Ruby (Retta), and Annie's (Mae Whitman) money supply. Their attempt to go back to being ordinary housewives is short-lived when Mary Pat (guest star Allison Tolman) puts the financial squeeze on them -- forcing the three women to commit another heist.

Across the pond and in the UK, well there's only one thing I really wanna talk about and that's Coronation Street from 7:30pm on ITV. It's an extremely big week for one Rana Nazir. It kicks off with Alya letting Rana's parents into the house and quickly goes downhill from there. She's not the only character with issues though as Robert's steroid abuse is coming back to bite him in the bum, and Eva's baby situation is growing ever more perilous now that Simon knows the truth. You can watch a preview of Carla's conversation with Ali & Toyah visiting Eva below.

Concerned about Robert, Carla asks Ali about steroid abuse, Kate calls round at Rana's so they can spend some time alone, but they don't expect a surprise visit from Alya and Rana's parents.

Alya is stunned to realise Rana is gay and that her parents already knew. Having realised what is going on between Ali and Carla, Michelle has it out with her. Meanwhile, Toyah visits Eva and tells her that Simon knows about their secret.

On BBC One at 8pm the build-up to Vincent's impending exit continues as do his cash worries, and that leads him to do something drastic.

In his desperation to make some money, Vincent meets with DI Franklin to give him some information on the heist - revealing both Aidan and Phil's involvement. Michelle arrives to start tutoring Hunter, but is mortified when she walks in on him and Louise half-dressed. Masood turns to Mo for help after dreaming up a new business idea, and Woody makes a fool of Billy at the nightclub.

Finally on ITV2 at 10pm you can watch the latest episode of Plebs 4th season. The show very much sits in the bracket of one which you like, but can never explain exactly why.

Marcus spies a money-making opportunity when the city goes into a frenzy of fundraising at marathon time, and Jason bets Aurelius he can beat him in the big race.
