Alexis Gerred Launches A Crowdfunding Campaign To Support Album Launch

Alexis Gerred launches a crowdfunding campaign to support album launch following the release of 'Sweet Angel', the debut single.

Alexis Gerred, who has played leading roles in the West End and beyond, is aiming to release his debut album with the help of a crowdfunding campaign.
Alexis, who reached the live semi-finals of BBC1’s Let It Shine as well as appearing in Our House, American Idiot and Dreamboats & Petticoats to name a few, is appealing to fans and supporters to help him cover some of the costs of producing and releasing a record packed with songs he has written over the course of his career.

The album itself is an emotional collection of pop/rock songs, from hard-hitting ballads to catchy up-tempo tunes, all with relatable lyrics that will appeal to everyone. The album has taken influence in sound and style from artists such as Train, Goo Goo Dolls, 3 Doors Down, Gavin DeGraw and Walk the Moon, whilst also making a nod towards some of Alexis’ own musical heroes, including Queen, Rod Stewart, Bad Company and Michael Jackson.

Alexis said “Having grown up listening to some of the greatest musicians of all time, I’ve always dreamed of someone enjoying my own music in the same way. Over the past ten years, I’ve been lucky enough to receive some incredible support through TV and theatre, but I’m excited to show everyone who I am as an individual, rather than the part or role I’m playing.”

With ten songs written and two already recorded, and an experienced producer on board, Alexis aims to raise £4,500 through his crowdfunding appeal, with all pledges going directly towards producer's fees, recording, mixing, mastering, CD duplication, merchandise and other associated costs.

To coincide with the launch of the crowdfunding campaign, Alexis has released ‘Sweet Angel’ – a driving pop/rock song about unconditional support and love. Originally written as a thank you to his parents for their support and guidance, Alexis says it now also reflects how he wishes to bring up his own children. “My parents have been a constant support, always showing me the way forward whatever situation I found myself in, and I like to think I am now offering that same love and guidance for my own children. Having said that, I hope anyone who has received support from others during tough times will relate to the lyrics of ‘Sweet Angel’”.


The second single 'Hold You Close' will not be released to the public until later in the crowdfunding campaign. It's almost the sequel to 'Sweet Angel' and a promise to Alexis' children that he will never break.
