Husk Releases Debut EP 'Husk'

Like a rough & ready Prince with a rudimentary approach, Husk has arrived. With a choral vocoder legion and infectious melodies that have a curious soulful tone packaged in a 3 track EP: this is proper electro-pop!

On a bed of synthesisers, a vocal delivery that obscures gender lines leads the narrative to animate an unapologetic life, love and sexuality of his transgender experience. From lead track ‘Brother Kin’, born from a politically motivated session, aggressively asserting how it feels to be ‘on the outside’ of a societal norm to ‘Every Bone’ which is a more vulnerable look at being exposed, especially when it comes to the physicality of relationships.

Rounding out the EP is ‘You Got It’, that is not too serious and expresses freedom found in losing the shackles of gender ideals.Following intimate vocal verses, come powerful, advancing climaxes where the vocoder really comes into its own -it’s all about the energy, the camaraderie of that moment, the release when the wall of synth descends and caustic drums give you itchy feet!

Akin to the likes of CHVRCHES, Christine & The Queens and early Madonna, you’ll find remnants of 80’s clapping snares and hooks that get their claws in.

Working with creative production pair, Sugar House Music, combining his rustic style and their experienced production style, Husk’s raw works become the self-titled electropop.

EP. includes the tracks ‘Brother Kin’, ‘Every Bone’ and ‘You Got It’. Available from 16th March 2018 on Spotify & iTunes.
