Stumbling across videos on Youtube is really fun. I had no idea what to expect when I clicked play on this video, but this song is absolutely excellent. Tash Palmer has such a beautiful, soulful voice and Worried has some pretty sick beats on it. The set designer for this video has also done a wonderful job in making the video fit the tone of the song, and Tash Palmer does a great job emoting the story of the song.
This is a magnificent music video. From the first second it ignites the curiosity as to what exactly it is we're witnessing. Au/Ra is fantastic in getting across the videos storyline and I love the way the song ever so slow builds up. When you have lyrics telling as an in-depth a story as they are here, you really don't need the music to be too heavy and over power them. I've had both this song and the music video on repeat since it was released, which should go some way in telling you just how good Panic Room is.
Moose Blood are an excellent band. Since stumbling across them recently, they haven't left my playlist. Just Outside is the perfect type of easy going Pop/Rock song and I just adore their album I Don't Think I Can Do This Anymore which is out now.
This might be one of the best songs Fickle Friends have ever made, and that's saying something considering every song of their's is pretty damn fine in its own way. Wake Me Up is head and shoulders above them all though. From start to finish it's a pop-tastic ride. Their debut album You Are Someone Else finally arrives this Friday & I cannot wait!
To finish off this weeks 5 Picks we have Lola Blanc's Don't Say You Do. It's a track and video that has proven extremely popular with CONTROLRadioUK HQ. It's another video with full credit given to the set & costume designers for really setting the mood, and another somewhat Jazzy number. Lola Blanc perfectly emotes the attitude of the song (I know I've been saying that a lot this week, but only because it's true) and I absolutely adore the song. It's really sultry, and has that special something about it that draws you in & then blows you away.
