Dominic Monaghan Joins Star Wars: Episode IX

Did someone order a mini Lost reunion?

Deadline have tonight revealed that Dominic Monaghan has joined the upcoming Star Wars film Episode IX. There's no word at this stage on who exactly he'll be playing, but he is reuniting with J.J Abrams after previously starring on ABC's hit mystery drama Lost.

It was revealed last month that Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, and Billie Lourd would all be returning for the final installment of the Skywalker saga.

Joining them of course is Naomi Ackie and Richard E. Grant, whilst veteran actors Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, and Billy Dee Williams will all be featured, with Billy reprising his role as Lando Calrissian.

As also previously revealed the late Carrie Fisher will appear in the film via previously unreleased footage from The Force Awakens with Abrams saying at the time “We desperately loved Carrie Fisher. Finding a truly satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker saga without her eluded us. We were never going to recast, or use a CG character. With the support and blessing from her daughter, Billie, we have found a way to honor Carrie’s legacy and role as Leia in Episode IX by using unseen footage we shot together in Episode VII.”
