In what will probably go down as completely unsurprising news, The Hollywood Reporting have revealed in breaking news tonight that production on Guardians of the Galazy Vol 3 has been put on hold.
Crew members are being dismissed and free to pursue new work. None of this is really surprising considering Marvel have yet to bring a new director on board following James Gunn being fired back in July. In a classic case of the Internet never forgetting, old tweets of his resurfaced which contained some extremely questionable content, and Disney felt no choice but to fire him. In the wake of this there has been celebrity support for Gunn's reinstatement including from cast members of the film, but so far Disney is holding firm and Gunn is said to be courting offers from other studios.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 was originally meant to be beginning filming in the winter, either in January or February. The project was crewing up and was to have gone into full pre-production mode in the fall. It's worth pointing out though that Disney never set a release date for the film.
