Ruth Royall Set To Release A New Single On May 25th

Ruth’s latest track is a clear nod to her love of funk such as The Meters, The Commodores and Mark Ronson. Royall’s new soul sound is layered with electronic influences and beats that stem from an upbringing in Bristol where Hip Hop is inherent and everybody knows Tricky. Fluctuating from delicate to dark to dripping with honey, Royall’s vocals encompass Billie Holiday, Etta James and Sade together with her production style that reflects her more recent obsessions like Submotion Orchestra, Zero 7,Jamie Woon and Nikka Costa.

After a few years of experimenting and developing her sound she became an established face on the Bristol music scene and founded The Bristol Sessions, a soul collective that sent shock waves across the city and remained an integral part of the cities buzzing music scene.
