ABC have now confirmed Shield will air in the summer of 2019. Dungey also added that no decision has been made yet on whether this will be the final season.

They may have made us sweat, but ABC today finally announced that Agents of SHIELD has indeed been renewed for a 6th season. The season will consist of 13 episodes and there's no word as of yet whether it will indeed be the last, but for now fans can enjoy knowing SHIELD will be on our screens for a little longer.
Official word from Marvel;

ABC officially announced today that “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will return for Season 6, continuing the adventures of your favorite agents.
