Wynonna Earp I Fall To Pieces Review: "Fun Times and Hard Times"

Are Wynonna Earp and Nicole Haught your favourite TV duo? Because Wynonna Earp and Nicole Haught should be your favourite TV duo.

They're two extremely head strong people, bound together by their love for Waverly. It'll be a cold day in Purgatory for them to ever admit to each other's faces that they respect each other and that's what makes episodes like this so fun. They're such polar opposite characters, who annoy the hell out of each other, and that's what makes episodes like this so fun.

Tonight began with Wynonna enjoying a lil fireman action much to Nicole's chagrin. With Nedley having made the decision to step down as Sheriff, it means that someone aka Nicole has to step up to the plate and get approval to be Sheriff. That's a lot easier said than done when Nedley's giving them the key to the Purgatory supernatural case file castle and amidst their arguing, they end up breaking a good luck mirror.

Nicole has to win over an extremely bigoted and racist council woman Bunny Loblaw. As soon as she steps foot into Nicole's house and lays eyes on the photo of her and Waverly, her mind is made up. Whilst Nicole is chasing her beloved kitty away due to Bunny's allergies, Wynonna is soon arriving onto the scene much to Nicole's disapproval and Bunny is soon offering her the job of Sheriff. She claims Wynonna is a good fit since she's been in Purgatory her whole life and is part of a founding family unlike our beloved Officer Haught. Wynonna of course doesn't want the job, but that's not going to stop her proclaiming that she'll take it up just to get a rise out of Nicole. It certainly does the trick as Nicole is soon taking Wynonna aside for a discussion on why she'd be absolutely terrible for the job, and their discussion preoccupies them enough for a mountain man to scare the crap out of Bunny and cause her to faint.

Nicole thinks she's passed out due to cat allergies, so hilarity ensues as Nicole tries to save Bunny's life by giving her an injection, she's revived and Nicole decides to take her to the hospital in her police car. Unfortunately whilst she and Wynonna are once again arguing, the car and Bunny are hijacked by two teens who fancy a joyride. At command central Waverly and Jeremy are on hand to inform Nicole & Wynonna that the car has been taken off to a bar full of bikers, who are revenants. Their attempts to sneak into the bar and play hero don't go very well as they're of course caught in the act, and Wynonna challenges the revs to a drink off - if the revs win they get to kill them. Nicole isn't too thrilled with this place and Wynonna knows she's gone and messed up, which is of course another day that ends in y.

The drink-off is going very well with Nicole and the revs getting tipsy whilst Wynonna is managing herself a little too well for said revs liking. It doesn't take them long to realize that Wynonna has been cheating, with skills she admits she picked up from Coyote Ugly (not gonna lie Wynonna's got good taste in films). Understandably the revs weren't too pleased with this spot of cheating, and Wynonna & Nicole were forced to flee the bar handcuffed to each other. Kudos to Nicole for telling Wynonna to stop quipping and run, because I'm seriously surprised she manages to kill as many revs as she does given the amount of quips she fits in pre-kill.

The two of them find themselves in the forest and are forced to use a bit of team work to try and out fight the revs. Unfortunately being handcuffed together has its downsides, and they are eventually out forced and saved from death by a mountain man. It seems Wynonna isn't the only chipper person in Purgatory, as the rev can't resist making his own quip about this story not having a happy ending. Whilst Wynonna and Nicole are thankful to still be alive, they are soon running away from said mountain man who wants a wife.

That running takes them to the Sheriff's office, where Waverly and Jeremy have deduced that their bag luck is courtesy of breaking a magical mirror during their fight. Whilst the two may have fixed the mirror, it isn't changing Wynonna and Nicole's bad luck as the mountain man is soon following them to the office proclaiming they owe him a wife. Waverly and Jeremy both try to stand up to him which doesn't work out so great, and Nicole & Wynonna take it in turns to point out why they'd make horrible wives, but each of them would be a great match for him. Again the dialogue is on fine form here as Nicole points out she's a lesbian, whilst Wynonna thinks she must be great in bed judging by the noises she hears due to the homesteads extremely thin walls.

Waverly soon realizes the wife that mountain man is referring to is his gnome wife who was broken during the earlier struggle. Wynonna and Nicole keep the mountain man distracted with their back and forth, which soon turns into the mountain man strangling them both as Waverly and Jeremy argue over which one of them has to sellotape the boobs onto the gnome, as you do in a moment of crisis. Fortunately they are able to put her back together and present her to mountain man who is then on his merry mountain way.

That drama out of the way, Bunny pays a visit to the station where she informs Wynonna she will indeed be putting her forward as Sheriff. That's not something Wynonna is willing to be, and she well and truly puts the scares on Bunny. Like any other council busybody, she wants answers to what's really going on in Purgatory but not really. She'd rather put the mountain man down to her feeling ill because of Nicole's cat, rather than acknowledging he was actually a mountain man of supernatural worth. Thankfully Wynonna has no problem in telling her just that, and warning Bunny if she doesn't support Nicole, then she'll be bringing more monsters in the night to her door. Bunny attempts to call Wynonna's bluff but that doesn't work very well and she's soon on her way, with Nicole having witnessed the exchange.

Both Nicole and Wynonna admit that they are alright, with Nicole also admitting she can't help feeling jealous of Wynonna. In all of this Wynonna also hands Nicole a photo which reveals that Nedley is the one who saved her as a child. This gives us a sweet scene between Nedley and Nicole as he admits he has always watched over her, and disapproved of her parents letting a child go off to the music festival. Nedley knows Nicole will make an excellent Sheriff because she is such a great person and he will always be around to give her advice and support. Nedley is a gold star person who needs to be protected at all costs. He is always so supportive and accepting of situations, and he's had a good relationship with Nicole ever since the show began and she started to gain a bit of prominence. Stepping down as Sheriff is sad, but I hope that doesn't mean he himself is going anywhere because the show needs a character like him who has been and seen it all to balance things out.

Away from the Wynonna/Nicole team-up another character said goodbye albeit hopefully not a permanent exit. Some fans had been wondering since Mama Earp's introduction (yes I am always referring to her as that) whether we'd get anything on Willa. Sure season 1 seems like such a long time now when you consider how far the show has come, but Willa was still an Earp and her death should still be hanging like a shadow over our characters. Whilst we don't see that so much with Waverly and Wynonna, we did see a bit of that with Mama Earp this week as she made Doc take her to Willa's grave. She expressed her condolences to her dead daughter for the fact she is now dead, and not being able to prevent that. Doc and Mama Earp are characters who are never going to see eye to eye. Mama Earp will always be distrusting of him and his agenda towards Wynonna regardless of being the father of her child. Doc will always look at Mama Earp somewhat skeptical of her and her motives and wanting to get her out of the picture.

As we saw at the end of last week's episode, Bobo proclaimed to know where Waverly's father Julian was and offered that information up if he was let out of the well. Doc isn't pleased at all when Mama Earp admits she let him out of the well, proclaiming that Bobo is a monster who can't be trusted. Mama Earp correctly points out they're living in a time of Bulshar hanging over their heads and sometimes? You need a monster to take down another monster. But the biggest thing to take from all of this is that Mama Earp has decided to leave Purgatory to go and find Julian, and ropes Doc into helping her. Despite their earlier hostile interactions Wynonna and Waverly have been willing to give Mama Earp another chance, now that they know the truth about her and why she's been away. Mama Earp knows Doc hasn't exactly liked that and that he'd be the one person who'd want her to leave town. He also knows Wynonna and Waverly are going to be extremely unhappy with this, and being abandoned by their mother again which he tries to call her out over. However being the all knowledgeable woman she is, Mama Earp is more than aware Doc is now a vampire and she's not gonna let a vampire preach at her.

Wynonna returns home to find Waverly in tears over Mama Earp leaving to go and find Julian, and once again I hope this isn't the last we see of her. Doc eventually makes his way to the homestead, where Wynonna reveals Mama Earp left a note for her warning her not to trust Doc. He's not very happy with that and tries to brush it off, but Wynonna's a smart cookie. She knows Doc's hiding something from her and eventually Doc reveals his vampire self to her. Wynonna is devastated by this and the fact Doc gave himself to Kate. He tries to play the cheap shot that Wynonna rejected him which she greets with a well deserved slap and calls Doc out on his selfishness and the fact that his immortality means more to him than anything else. It's an extremely sad and emotional fight between the two characters which is wonderfully played my Melanie and Tim. Eventually Wynonna does turn her back on Doc and tell him that he's not welcome anymore, which leaves them both somewhat devastated.

'I Fall To Pieces' was for the most of it an extremely fun episode, with the last 5 minutes completely shattering my heart which is what this show does best. Next week's episode looks to be yet another fun ride and you can watch it next Friday on Syfy and Space.

Coronation Street Review: "Face-Offs & Home Truths"

Tonight's episode began with Peter still intent on protecting Simon no matter what and Kate/Saira having quite the feisty encounter.

Because she's Kate, she couldn't resist having a dig over Saira going off on a cruise when she's supposed to be mourning, and refusing to rush off to the flat to get Rana's passport because she doesn't want to see Kate. Because she's Saira, she pointed out Kate was acting like a child and well and truly put in her place, Kate agreed to get the passport and see Saira at the bistro.

Because Kate needed words of wisdom she turned to Daniel Osbourne. Kate was still sticking to her guns that Rana was crazy for wanting to go on a cruise with the woman who tried to kidnap her, and being willing to lose their relationship in the process. Daniel pointed out the only one really putting the relationship in jeopardy here was her. Rana wants both her mum and Kate in her life. Saira may not like the relationship but is willing to put up with it because she doesn't want to lose Rana. Kate was refusing to comprehend that death can change a person's perspective, and really putting Rana in an impossible position of choosing between her love and her mum. Daniel also pointed out how much Rana has given up to be with Kate. I think at this point we can declare Daniel to be an official shipper tbh. YasQueen is all good in her words of wisdom and they come from the right place, but in this situation? Words of guidance from an outsider completely neutral to Saira's kidnapping escapades is what is needed.

Source: Kate and Rana

Did I find it slightly strange given Kana had previously made up off screen, all of a sudden Rana doesn't want to see her? Yes. Do I find it bizarre given the conversation with Johnny where Kate was admitting she was being a bit daft, YasQueen telling her that she was right to be wary would be enough to make Kate climb back on the high horse? Completely since it's not like those two are best buds though I hope they do have a bitchfest over Saira at some point, cause you've gotta find some way to past time in the day. My take from all this though is soaps gonna soap. As has been evidenced in the past, these two dorks are incapable of truly staying mad at each other. 5 minutes of proper conversation and everything's resolved, with Craig sleeping out on the street for the night, and in that situation? We're not getting Daniel Osbourne preaching the gospel or Kate doing her best Liam Nesson impression.

Source: Kate and Rana

At the bistro Kate was still very much on the defensive whilst admitting she was slightly in the wrong, but still totally telling Saira she has to accept her and her relationship with Rana otherwise she will lose her daughter. In the midst of Saira taking this on like a trooper, Kate warned that if she does anything to Rana whilst they're on the cruise, then she will find her and she will make her pay. THIS IS THE QUALITY CONTENT WE DESERVE. Kate Connor is a completely overprotective bae. First whiff of trouble in Rana's direction and she will flip. Saira greeted all of this with a lovely stoned expression, probably not sure at all what to make of all of this. Here she is trying to be a good mum for once in her life and build bridges with her daughter because family is so precious to her now, going toe to toe with Kate on the verbal smackdown and then getting threatened. As funny as this all was it was still completely in character. Neither of them want to lose Rana, but they're not going to be best friend's overnight. Not when Saira has tried to kidnap Rana and not when Saira does still probably view Kate as the woman who has turned her daughter's life upside down. Saira of course won Rana over when she acknowledged that she still doesn't understand her, but knows Rana is smart and if she says she loves Kate then she will try to accept it, but she has a long way to go to win Kate over and the same can probably be said for Saira.

Completely proving the point of these idiots can't really stay mad at each other, Kate did indeed back down and stop Rana in the middle of the street. She apologized, they exchanged I love you's, Kate promised to wait for rana, and whilst Saira watched on with a stony expression, things are being left in a good place for this hiatus.

Sure the scene could've been longer, and I'm totally calling fake news on Rana being willing to go off without making things right with Kate, but this is a chapter of the story closed. Rana has gone from being a person in a marriage with someone she didn't truly love, to realizing she had feelings for her friend, acting on those said feelings with a kiss and pouring her heart out, being rejected, Kate realizing she had those same feelings but not wanting to act because Rana was with Zeedan, a lil bit of going cold on each other, before eventually just giving into it all. Yes Kate did once again break it off when Rana wasn't able to break it off with Zeedan, but she did eventually find the courage to admit to Zeedan she was in love with someone else, have to go through him outing her to her parent's, her parents disgust and offering money if they stayed together, that being blown to smitherings because Kate and Rana really can't stay away from each other, Zeedan leaving after realizing there wasn't reallya place for him on the street anymore, Kate and Rana being together with Rana still disowned, and now her dad's died, her mother has realized that life is too short and is willing to accept Rana as she is.

Sure this storyline has had a lot of breaks and there have been some issues writing wise. But this is still massive character development to take place inside of a year. The break will be annoying, but when Rana does get back the next part of the storyline will begin, and we await to see what that is. Sure Coronation Street is a soap and soaps do stupid stuff sometimes, but there's no denying Kate & Rana are for keeps and this storyline has been extremely well done.

In news no-one cares about Angie and Jude are continuing to have relationship issues. And by continuing I mean Judge still deluding himself he has a chance and Angie doing her best to work with that. The guy really doesn't understand that lying to your wife for your whole relationship is quite the deal breaker. Mary meanwhile continued to be supportive and of course Jude went along with it and wrapped someone else up in his lies.

Peter meanwhile decided that Simon hanging out at the factory working would be a good idea to keep him safe. Not gonna lie, I do like the odd Carla/Simon interaction, but I don't dig Peter/Carla. Once again he pointed out he knew Carla was testing him. Once again I do not care in the slightest. The writers are really dragging out this whole will they/won't they. I don't understand why considering Carla deserves far better and gave Peter that epic speech just a few weeks ago. Simon even gives them his seal of approval, goodness knows why. Continuing to have a good eye for detail Carla caught Sinead red-handed trying to make an alteration to a garnet that was not undies. Carla the informed Sinead she was being docked wages for moonlighting, but they were soon distracted by Sinead being in a serious amount of pain. Carla was stuck in a bit of a bind since she wasn't supposed to leave Simon, but of course she had to.

At the factory he was pretty spooked for obvious reasons since our resident hoodlums were soon paying a visit and demanding he open the door. Carla was soon springing to the rescue with Peter to rescue Simon, and Peter of course got shot for his troubles. Proving himself to be the trooper, Peter declared himself fine having been shot with a paint ball and the emphasis was on making sure Simon was ok. That's all well and good except for the threat that next time the bullet will be real. Leanne was shocked to discover all of this news and soon jumping on the 'Carla this is all your fault' train, which I'll appreciate because she really does hate her. Peter unfortunately reveals everything happened so quick he can't be concrete on the shooter being Tyler, and Simon basically decided he's not going to testify. Leanne's ok with following Simon's wishes because she's a great mother hen, but Peter isn't having that and they're soon coming to blows. The two sides of the coin are understandable; Leanne doesn't want Simon in anymore danger and is always going to do what he wants whilst Peter just wants them all to be safe and putting Tyler away is an avenue to that. Ken tries to give Simon some words of advice but Peter was still being a massive hot head. Because he's a teenager Simon changed his mind yet again, and decided he was indeed going to testify. Leanne was still extremely scared of what could potentially happen to Simon and warned Peter that it'd be on his conscience.

Because the gifts just keep on coming we're treated to a Leanne/Carla scene, with Leanne once again blaming Carla for everything and ordering Carla to stay away from them.

I just love these two in scenes. Be it hating, begrudgingly admitting respect or wanting to tear lumps out of each other, I love them. If Corrie want to keep giving us Leanne/Carla scenes then I'm completely game.

Carla soon turned up to the bistro to see Michelle because we are truly being blessed tonight. She tells Michelle all of the Simon drama, and how Leanne blames her for everything. Michelle however picks up on the fact Carla was so affected by thinking Peter had been shot, and isn't here for Carla's excuses. So Carla reluctantly admits what we all know; she has feelings for Peter. Michelle is basically us as she questions why Carla is being such a dummy, and Carla of course doesn't react well to that. With Carla in such a good mood she decided to let bygones be bygones with Sinead and whilst Daniel asked a favour of Carla, she watched on quite uncomfortably as he gave her a thank you kiss. She can't help bringing up that thank you kiss to Daniel, who brings up their previous affair but claims they're now mates. Considering Carla is already in a will they/won't they with Peter, I don't think she's in the mood for another doomed triangle.

The crumbs continued to be laid for a relationship between Leanne/Imran with him comforting her over the Simon drama before they were interrupted by Angie. She's a smart woman though and can blatantly see what's going on just like Adam. But Angie's also feeling slightly down that she doesn't have that same spark shecan see in Leanne/Imran's interactions because she's basically stuck in a loveless marriage and at this point we can declare Angie deserves better. We were also treated to a sighting of Fiz as she and Tyrone were busy getting the house ready for Jack's return because they're good neighbours. And because she's a great mother hen, Fiz decided to get something sorted for Kevin to eat. He later poured his heart out to Fiz and Tyrone who promised to be here to support him and Jack.

With Angie still clearly struggling it was Adam Barlow's turn to be wise and offer a shoulder to cry on without any benefits. She later returned home to Jude where she once again reiterated she doesn't love him anymore. Jude continued to be delivered and Angie attempted to give him home truths that just kept falling on deaf ears. Because he really can't handle the truth he walked out. Because Tracey's been drinking the smart aid, she points out Mary's vow renewal for Jude and Angie has disaster written all over it. With Jude still deluding himself Tracey tried to preach wisdom to him, but Mary and Jude ignored it all. Once again returning home Angie decided she wanted a trial separation which Judge agrees to as long as she gave him one more day, and we all know why he wants another day. Mary is a good soul who deserves better than having Jude for a son to be honest. Elsewhere Kirk decided to use his connections to arrange for Jack's favourite footballer to greet him when he returns from hospital.

MNEK, The Struts + Kesha, Alesso & Nothing But Thieves Are Our #NewMusicFriday Picks

Here at CONTROLRadioUK we're always on the look out for the freshest tunes, be it for playlisting or you dear readers. In #NewMusicFriday we're bringing you some of the best tracks released this week.

Starting off this week is another top song from MNEK 'Correct'. From start to finish this is a certified bop. Every pre-album single MNEK has released as been great in some way. 'Correct' is probably my favourite along with 'Tongue' because I really appreciate songs that mix things up. There's a nice little beat break as the song reaches its climax and I absolutely adore beat breaks that are done right. The lyrics are pretty damn fine, as is the music and I love the attitude in the video. In case you need a reminder, MNEK has got a debut album coming at long last. It's called "Languages" and you can pre-order it right now and there's also still some tickets available for his mini UK tour.

When your favourites collaborate? It's a good day. When your favourites collaborate so effortlessly? It's a pretty fantastic day. For those who wish to listen to The Struts only version you can find it here. The Struts are one of my favourite bands and Kesha is one of my favourite singers. Much like with remixes, if you're going to feature someone on your song? It has to be because they're adding something to it because there's really not much fun in listening to a different version that sounds exactly the same as the original. You also have to be careful that neither Artist is overpowering the other, and 'Body Talks' is the perfect collab. Kesha fits onto the song and indeed the video perfectly. It's the right amount of attitude, the right amount of fun, and 'Body Talks' is a funky song that will get stuck in your head immediately. It has such an infectious chorus and all round feel-good atmosphere that will get you up dancing.

This weeks #NewMusicFriday is probably the most perfect edition you're ever going to get with the right balance of Pop, Pop/Rock, Dance and Rock. Here we have Alesso's new track 'Remedy'. If like me you have a keen ear for singer, then you'll recognize that the vocals are by Connor Maynard. He really has such a wonderful voice and is another who fits on tracks effortlessly. Video wise who doesn't like a bit of green martian exploring human nature and finding another of their kind at a gig? Music wise I really like that the track is so subtle. There will of course be people criticizing it but when you have an Artist featuring on a track, you do have to be careful to make sure that the music doesn't overpower their vocals because that sounds terrible, and honestly 'Remedy' is an extremely chill dance song in its vibe. Not every dance song needs to take the roof off the house in order to be a banger, and at least 'Remedy' isn't repetitive in nature.

Finishing this weeks #NewMusicFriday with a Rock banger from Nothing But Thieves. They're another band that I absolutely adore and I fell in love with 'Forever and Ever More' song within 20 seconds of pressing play. If you've never heard their music before, this is the perfect introduction. The chorus is absolute magical, the guitar riff is insane, the vocals are sublime and basically everything about this song is perfection. The way the song switches gears, the drums, the haunting vocals, THAT ending..... it's all just so fantastic. You may also be interested to know that Nothing But Thieves have a new EP on the way! It's called "What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way", it's out on the 19th October, you can of course pre-order it now and I can't wait!

Simon Lynge NEW SINGLE 'Age of Distraction' Out 7th September 2018 From Forthcoming Album "Deep Snow" Out 23rd November 2018

Simon Lynge’s music has a way of captivating the soul, at once melodic and beautiful, yet powerful in its presence and boldness. His lyrics are poetic, and speak candidly from personal experience, sometimes of inner darknesses and existential challenges. Astute observations of our world and humanity weave their way into his songs, and a real perception of the beauty of life leads the listener into a joyful space, even in the midst of deep sorrows.

Due a world-wide release on 23rd November 2018, the Greenlandic-Danish singer songwriter’s latest album ‘Deep Snow’ was recorded in a secluded cottage in the green hills of Wales, and in the eclectic atmosphere of Narcissus Studios in London. The album is a collaboration with long-time friend and musical partner, Richard Lobb.

Simon grew up in both Denmark and Greenland. He always felt a strong affinity for his arctic homeland, with its abundant, unspoiled nature and deep connection to the earth and its creatures.

Simon’s musical roots come from Greenland, where his father is an acclaimed accordion player, and his grandfather was a composer and conductor and namesake of a church choir in Qaqortoq, which still exists to this day.

Simon began singing as a boy in a church choir in Denmark, and was inspired to begin writings songs in his teenage years by the music of Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Simon & Garfunkel and Crosby Stills & Nash, among others.

Simon’s music brought him first to Copenhagen, then to the UK and the US. His last album, The Map of Your Life, was recently nominated in The 2018 Independent Music Awards in New York. He has had several song placements on US network television and film, appeared on BBC Breakfast TV & BBC national radio, performed at Glastonbury Festival & toured with Emmylou Harris, and when he’s not wielding his guitar he can often be found on a soccer pitch, much like his idol, Bob Marley.

Lee Christian NEW SINGLE 'Live Your Life' Out Now From New Album ''Vocation' Release 22nd June 2018

'Live Your Life' blends 80's, early 90's Hacienda club sound with a rave era postive upbeat message to live your live and to be free (that's as relevant if not more so now) delivered with a soulful vocal and chilled harmonies certainly pushing the boundaries of electronic music.

For 'Vocation', Lee Christian's 6th solo record in 5 years, (working separately from his bands Smilex & The Prohibition Smokers' Club) rather than write, perform and produce everything as he has done so far, Lee decided to work with many talented producers (previous collaborators and brand new), focussing instead solely on lyrics, melodies and harmonies.

Taking inspiration from David Bowie’ s departure from the shock rock glam of Ziggy and experimental explorations of the Thin White Duke, for the contemporary R&B sheen of Nile Rodgers produced classic Let’s Dance. The result is his most immediate collection of songs for a decade, a sprawling yet cohesive set, including Electronica, Dance, Hip Hop, soul, RnB, Funk and more from over a dozen beat makers from around the world.

'Vocation' is overflowing with summery festival vibes, the result perhaps of road testing some of the material with his band The Prohibition Smokers’ Club, supporting Roachford and headlining stages and thrilling audiences at Truck, Cornbury and Wychwood festivals… and more!

RIDER NEW SINGLE 'You' Out 14th September 2018

RIDER returns with single “You” (September 14th)

Brody Swain - BBC Coventry and Warwickshire: "Always massive tunes by RIDER! ... “

American born RIDER produces alternative pop. A true visionary with larger than life melodies, the London based multi-instrumentalist is heard by millions across TV / radio / film as an international vocalist and producer.

RIDER has now stepped into the limelight; propelling her distinct production, powerful vocals, emotive lyrics and energetic band performances to the forefront.

The hotly-tipped UK / US artiste singles “A Little Light”, “Let Me Go” and “Hurts Me Too” received generous attention from press, radio and streaming services on both sides of the Atlantic.

Rider’s dazzling abilities have probably filled your ears more times than you will ever know with appearances on jingles for dozens of radio stations including Europe’s biggest station BBC Radio 2, Radio 1, regional stations and many more around the world. But now she is stepping into the spotlight to show exactly what she can do.

A British/American multi-instrumentalist who writes, performs and produces all her own tracks, Rider spent her early years in Pennsylvania before moving with her family to various locations around the UK as she grew up, including Ripon, Repton, St David’s, Cheltenham, Walton On Thames and went on to study in Liverpool at Sir Paul McCartney’s LIPA.

Young, cool and sassy, Rider is an eternal optimist and her chosen name is an expression of her outlook. She says: “The name Rider to me means speed, forever moving, riding life, excitement, coasting along. It has a positive feeling about it and I'm a glass-half-full kinda girl. Life's good.”

And this dynamic, on-the-go approach to life – which takes in a love of skydiving, snowboarding, climbing trees and plunging into the sea – is accompanied by a refusal to be bound by convention: “I don't like abiding to rules most of the time.
I'm a free spirit and I hate taking the obvious path - both in a physical sense and metaphorically too.”

In addition to her work on radio jingles, Rider’s music has featured in an array of TV shows including ITV’s Loose Women and Australia’s Location Location Location.

Single “You” is an upbeat celebration of life changing experiences for RIDER; a song reflective of relationship conflicts, inner strength, positivity and the constant drive to move forward.

RIDER “You” is available on all music streaming services September 14th 2018.

Coronation Street Review: "Coming Round"

Source: Kate and Rana

I've said it before but I'll say it again; starting off with Kate is the best way to start an episode. Especially when that start is wise old Johnny giving her some extremely useful advice. She's still struggling with the fake-up and more specifically Rana moving out because let's face it, neither of them expected her to have to do that and she's still struggling with her dislike of Saira which is again completely understandable. Johnny's on hand to point out he wasn't the best parent when Kate first came out, though he of course didn't try to kidnap her, and offers words of wisdom which ends in the offer of a holiday because Johnny can't help wanting to spoil his little princess.

With her own love life in the crapper, Gemma turned her hand to match-making but she's no Sally Metcalfe. Gemma thinks Liz is all sad over Mike leaving, when of course we know she's sad over working with Johnny after their extremely brief fling. Whilst it was all for the sake of plot, I still need Jenny to find out. Sure pod Johnny has long departed and normal Johnny is now back, but Jenny still deserves to know the truth.

Kate and Rana caught up with each other and Kate was quick to offer the idea of her and Rana having a holiday together. Of course Rana can't do that since she's already decided to go off on the cruise with Saira for 6 weeks, which Kate is justifiably not happy with. Rana though isn't budging on the cruise and they're once again left at a stand still. Both points of view are once again completely understandable. Being in and around her mum has somewhat regressed Rana's character as it always does when she's around her parents, and because she's the type of person to offer a billion chances, of course she'd want to go on a cruise with her mum because she is the only parent she has left. Of course Kate wouldn't be happy with that given they've already faked a break-up and her mum did try to kidnap her. Of course they both don't understand each other's point of views and of course that does create tension.

Imran and Rana later catch up with Saira at speed-dahl and YasQueen is of course watching in the distance because she's a Queen who still adores Rana and doesn't trust Saira as far as she can be thrown. Rana tells Saira she wants to go on the cruise with her since Imran can't and Saira is nice as pie, except she can't resist making a dig about Kate. And of course Saira drops the bomb that Hassan cut Rana out of the will, but it's all ok because she's seen sense and is on the right path. All of this is of course weighing down on Rana, and she once again wonders if she should tell Saira the truth. This is probably gonna be my only fault of the night, since Rana had previously said she would tell Saira the truth when the time was right and it now seems as though she's becoming so immersed in being back in with her mum and getting complimented probably for the first time in her life and it's clear Rana is feeling pulled in two different directions.

Source: Kate and Rana

As Saira continues to go on Rana can't take it any longer and tells her mum the truth. She proclaims her love for Kate and admits that she lied about breaking up. Saira is of course furious with this and the fact Rana let her father die thinking she'd seen the 'error' of her apparent ways, and tells Rana that she makes her sick because she's not trying to win soap Mother of the Year.

Source: Kate and Rana

Rana catches up with her mum and spills her absolute guts to her in a scene that should be added to Bhavna's showreel. Rana reveals Kate was the one who suggested they break-up so that Rana could see her father. Saira is still not really having any of it and still set in the belief that Rana can change. With Saira refusing to budge Rana issues her an ultimatum that she can either accept her or not, and goes off to sort things with Kate because that is the most important relationship to her and at this point I'm basically a squeeing mess. Saira then chases after Rana and they have another massive shouting fest which does finally end in Saira being willing to mend fences. Rana points out she should love her no matter what and with Hassan's death firmly on her mind, Saira admits she doesn't understand the relationship but she will learn to accept it and at this point I'm basically in floods.

I've complained a few times here and there about Saira's portrayal in this storyline, but honestly this scene? This is the type of scene I've been waiting for and it is true to life. Unfortunately people do exist in the world who are for whatever reason extremely homophobic and will disown their own children as a result and when parental love isn't enough to break down that wall? Death will. It truly does put things into perspective for a lot of people and that's exactly what's happened with Saira here, even with her going as far as to actually say Kate's name. It's an absolutely wonderful scene that is perfectly acted by Bhavna and Kim and will probably be rewatched a lot.

Unfortunately whilst Rana may have mended one relationship, the other is in massive danger. She goes to the flat happy enough that she's finally reached peace with her mum, and she and Kate do apologize to each other but as soon as Rana says she's still going on the cruise Kate is not a happy bunny. Whilst we viewers may have seen the actual conversation and know that Saira was being genuine, Kate doesn't and she's still extremely apprehensive and convinced that Saira will try to turn Rana against her. Rana rightfully points out Kate wasn't there for the conversation, but Kate is still refusing to budge and brings up Aidan and Rana not really understanding her. They're both basically at a gridlock and Kate tells Rana if she goes on the cruise she won't wait for her and to leave.

Honestly this scene did absolutely gut me but then tonight did in general because of the emotion involved. This scene though? It didn't really make a whole lot of sense. Kate has known from the get go that despite what they've done, Rana's parents are extremely important to her. She's known from the get go that having their approval meant a lot to her, and being on the outs with them was incredibly hard. She suggested the fake-up so that Rana would be able to see her dying dad, and for a split second when Rana revealed he'd died, Kate had thought he'd died finally accepting her for who she is. Of course that didn't happen and Rana's felt terrible for the lies and the fake-up spiraling out of control. Whilst she would have reservations over whether or not Saira was actually being genuine, she'd also know that reaching this stage with her mum is incredibly important to her. So considering all of this? Threatening to walk away if Rana goes on a cruise for 6 weeks doesn't really ring true and it felt like a cheap shot mentioning Aidan. Rana was there for her when he died and has been supporting her since and shouldn't be made to feel bad for grieving for her father just because Kate doesn't understand it. Sure Kate can be extremely rash with her emotions and say things she doesn't really mean in the heat of the moment, and is quite fearful of what Saira could still do to Rana. But she's completely dismissing everything Rana is saying about her mum in the process, even going as far as to call her stupid for daring to believe her, and that doesn't quite ring true to me but I guess when you reach your breaking point all the emotions just come toiling out.

Rana goes running to Imran for advice and whilst he does mock Kate's concern, he's also aware of what their mum is capable of but thinks they owe it to Hassan to give Saira another chance - but not at the expense of Rana's relationship with Kate. Meanwhile Kate goes to Johnny for advice and he tells her that she's right to expect the same level of support from Rana. Just as it looks like Kate may be realizing she's acted rashly, YasQueen warns her not to trust Saira. Her view point here is completely understandable because once again, she's not been privy to what we have and I'm basically never hearing a word against YasQueen. It's also important to note that both Kate/Rana realize the ultimatum was massively rash and even if they're not talking to each other, they are talking to people whom's opinions are actually useful. Oh and it's basically a countdown to them both apologizing once again and making peace because that's just how they roll.

Because the writers are intent of dangling that Peter/Carla crumb in our faces, and an interviewee at the factory would of course look like Tina. When this is pointed out to Carla, she decides to let Peter take the lead, I guess to test whether or not he's truly changed. Simon was also marching about extremely grumpily but what's new there. Peter does manage to get through the interview but can't get over the fact she looks so much like Tina and of course Carla abandons the interview. They do then speak with Peter more than aware of the interviewee looking like Tina, and doesn't want a daily reminder of the biggest mistake of his life when he's worked so hard to become a better person. Roy thankfully interrupts this nice little moment and also informs Peter of his wayward son's actions. Leanne and Angela are soon hanging out with Simon joining them and Adam informs Angela that Jude was looking for her, which serves to remind us they are still actually a thing. Angela somewhat catches Mary in the act of planning more shenanigans and is trying to gently let Mary know she doesn't have to babysit, but instead faces the prospect of spending time with her husband which doesn't thrill her. Imran is on hand for more useful advice because tonight he was wise, insightful Imran and he believes Rana will be alright because of course! Angela's another person at her breaking point and tells Jude they can't carry on like this.

With an incident happening at speed-dahl ending in Simon running out and Leanne following him. Leanne's unhappy that Simon's been so rude to YasQueen (yes that is how I refer to her) not knowing the real reason of what spooked him. Back home Leanne is still wondering what on earth is going on with Simon whilst also spilling on the factory interviewee being Tina's twin. Leanne however believes Carla was trying to set Peter up to test her, and I'm again wondering why on earth Leanne cares. Carla meanwhile has been blindsided by Peter's reaction because she really wants to hate him but can't, and again I'm just counting down the days here because it's so obvious especially when Roy's spewing wisdom. Carla needs to remember her conversation with Peter a few short weeks ago, and every bad thing he has ever done, and have Michelle tattoo it onto her.

Chesney meanwhile revealed to Cathy and Gemma that the kids think Brian is Santa because it's never too early to start thinking about Christmas. That crisis is soon being discussed in the cafe and all I really took from this convo is that there's less than 4 months of the year left. Cathy reveals that Brian thinks the kids respect him and Tyrone doesn't see what harm can come of this. With the kids misbehaving Tyrone is soon threatening them with Brian and agrees that not telling them the truth definitely won't cause any harm. Steve meanwhile let slip to Liz that Gemma was trying to get in touch with Mike because she thinks Liz is still into him. This obviously freaks Liz out but Steve doesn't want to get involved and who can blame him. Liz later lies to Gemma that Mike has moved on as a way of stopping a match-maker in progress.

The night ended with Leanne and Peter discussing how exactly to deal with Simon, which ended in him being forced to go to the shop to buy something for Leanne and getting jumped by hoodlums. Fortunately Kate was there to rescue him even if she got knocked down in the process, but it's now clear to Peter and Leanne just how serious Simon's issues are and he can't run away, and Peter vows that no-one is messing with his family anymore. Shout-out to Kate running to the rescue like the BAMF she is.

Mr. Robot To Conclude With Season 4

NEW YORK, NY – August 29, 2018 – USA Network today announced the fourth and final season of the award-winning MR. ROBOT will return in 2019. From Universal Cable Productions (UCP), production will begin this winter in New York.

Creator, showrunner and director Sam Esmail confirmed the news. “When I first created the world of MR. ROBOT, I thought it would be a niche television series with a small, cult following,” said Esmail. “Over the past three years, it has become so much more, and I am continually humbled by the show’s recognition and by the amazing cast and crew that work tirelessly to help bring my vision to life. Since day one, I’ve been building toward one conclusion – and in breaking the next season of MR. ROBOT, I have decided that conclusion is finally here. Everyone on the creative team, including the amazing people at USA and UCP, didn't want to say goodbye, but we ultimately have too much respect for Elliot's journey to extend past its inevitable ending. Therefore, Season 4 will serve as the final chapter of the MR. ROBOT story. To fans of the show: thank you for the past three years, and I can't wait to share this exciting final season with you."

“From the beginning, MR. ROBOT proved to be a show unlike any other on television, capturing the zeitgeist of our modern times with a unique point of view and definitive vision,” said Chris McCumber, President, USA Network. “Working with Sam and the entire cast and crew has been nothing short of incredible – and we can’t wait to reveal the complete MR. ROBOT story.”

Dawn Olmstead and George Cheeks, co-presidents of Universal Cable Productions: “The story of MR. ROBOT is completely original and exhilarating – striking a cultural chord at just the right time. As we begin production on the final chapter of this iconic series, we want to thank Sam for his unparalleled vision, the masterful crew and the passionate cast who breathe life into these rich characters.”

MR. ROBOT follows Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek), a cyber-security engineer who, along with Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) and fsociety, starts a revolution to change the world. Season 4 will pick up where the third season finale left off, delving into the pros and cons of Elliot hitting “send” on the email that could reverse 5/9. The series stars Emmy Award winner and Golden Globe® nominee Malek, Golden Globe Award winner Slater, Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin, Martin Wallström, Grace Gummer, Michael Cristofer and Emmy Award nominee BD Wong. MR. ROBOT hails from writer, director and executive producer Esmail, as well as Anonymous Content executive producers Steve Golin and Chad Hamilton.

Under his overall deal with UCP, Esmail is executive producer on the upcoming USA Network pilot BRIARPATCH, a unique blend of crime, thriller, mystery, and pulp fiction starring Rosario Dawson and based on the Ross Thomas novel of the same name. He is also executive producing ANGELYNE, a drama starring Emmy Rossum (“Shameless”) and based on The Hollywood Reporter senior writer Gary Baum's investigative feature on the Los Angeles billboard diva. In addition, Esmail is developing a limited series based on Fritz Lang's sci-fi classic METROPOLIS. Most recently, he directed and executive produced Amazon's HOMECOMING, based on the podcast of the same name, starring Julia Roberts and Bobby Cannavale, which will premiere later this year.
