Useless Cities Release New Single 'A Little Too Obtuse' This Friday

USELESS CITIES RETURN WITH NEW SINGLE ‘A LITTLE TOO OBTUSE’

London-based, multi-national post-rockers Useless Cities are back with their new single A Little Too Obtuse (availableon all download/streaming platforms) and a new video to accompany the track. The atmospheric, expansive and beautiful new song explores an imploding relationship and is produced by Paul Tipler (Placebo/The Horrors/Idle wild). It’s driven by tense, building guitar lines, haunting piano and the band’s ethereal male/female vocals.

“A Little Too Obtuse is a song about trying to successfully navigate a romantic relationship, ”explains Useless Cities singer/guitarist Tom Argent. “It draws on feelings of vulnerability when things are starting to go wrong. The second half is a little more fraught, yet optimistic in tone - perhaps, after all, this is something worth fighting for.”

With members from Austria, Romania, Ireland and the UK, the four-piece have made London their home and quickly built a fanbase there since forming in 2016. Theirunique, glacial and unpredictable take on nineties and noughties-influenced shoegaze -rock has yielded two EPS and a string of singles so far.

BBC 6 Music’s Fresh On The Net have already supported the band, and their songs have gained rave press coverage with GigSlutz, XS Noize, Soundchip, She Makes Music and many more.

Useless Cities celebrate the release of A Little Too Obtuse with a headline show at London’s The Finsbury on 29th June. For more info, head to uselesscities.co.uk
