Produced by legendary producer Mike Bennett (Ian Brown, The Fall, Toyah Willcox), the EP promises to deliver this stunning live act into the minds of the radio listener and new music follower.
An artist described by Louder Than War as “One to watch out for”, She Robot (Suzy Condrad), self-styled ‘one-woman band for the 21st century’, creates ingenious, dynamic underground experimental pop completely live with a loop pedal and draws influences from a multitude of genres ranging from 80’s electronica, ska and dub to folk and doo-wop, daringly looping together anything from beatboxing to synthesisers to ukulele to autoharp to Everly Brothers-style harmonies.
A rising DIY star of the festival circuit, She Robot has self-released two albums, She of Little Faith (2013) and Street Repeat (2015), as well as winning the Boss UK Looping Championship (2011).
The new EP, 7 Bells, embraces an eclectic range of subjects and moods and resists convenient categorisation, with a dense thicket of live instrumentation and juxtaposition of vintage and modern electronica.
The four tracks (7 Bells, Breakdown, We Never Broke the Window and Don't Look Down) were recorded in Suzy's basement in Bristol and augmented and mixed in Manchester by acclaimed producer Mike Bennett, who became enamoured with She Robot having seen her play at Bristol's Thunderbolt Tavern.
