DeeVer Release New Single 'Only Enemy' From New Album Out In February

‘Only Enemy is a very honest and brutal commentary on a subject that I think the modern generation has been plagued by and a lot of us can relate to. The diminished sense of self-worth, created by the need for validation through social media and the internet. I’ve been there, I’ve done it. I’ve measured my worth on the amount of likes or comments I’ve got and I’ve compared my worst to everyone else’s ‘best’ (which, let’s face it – is usually the only thing people share online). It’s a very dangerous thing. The opening lyric “Filter the truth, design a you and hope you satisfy them all. Notification generation now, we’re unbelievable” leaves no question about the subject of the song. I think social media and the internet can be a wonderful thing, but there is that dark side to it which a lot of us can forget and this song is a reminder to myself and others, not to let it pull you in! – Billy Taylor (frontman)

For those unfamiliar North East rockers Deever officially launched in 2017 with their debut single and music video “Fire at Will”.

They released their second single ‘All Come Running’ shortly after and received regular national airplay with their latest track “Alright”.

All three singles are available on all digital platforms.

Deever were voted ‘Best New Band’ in 2017 by Metaltalk.net and were tipped as Planet Rock’s ‘Ones to Watch’.

With a modern rock vibe that blends the band’s hard-rock, punk and metal influences, Deever are a band packed full of aggressive guitars and hooks which are armored with a very distinct British edge.

All four members are from the North East of England and were brought together by ex-Inglorious guitarist Billy Taylor.

For fans of: Foo Fighters, Shinedown, Royal Blood, Muse.

Halflives Unveil 'Fugitive' Music Video + Live Dates

It's still over a month until Christmas but for fans of pop-rock quartet Halflives, they've just been given a fantastic early present. Halflives' brand new single Fugitive has been released for the enjoyment of all, and the initial reaction has been hugely positive.

Already racking up close to 10,000 views on YouTube in just three days, the video for Fugitive takes things to the next level for Halflives as frontwoman Linda Battliani is taken across Paris and beyond, lamenting on the situation she finds herself in. Please check out the video right now!

Fugitive sees the continued evolution of Halflives distinctive sound, melding synths and samples into more traditional rock elements to create some devastatingly catchy hooks and one of the biggest choruses the band has ever written. It is also Halflives most personal song to date, as their frontwoman Linda Battliani explains:

"It happened to everybody, or at least to many people, to feel lost at a certain point in their life, like they don’t belong anywhere, to wander lost in a city that is a stranger to them. It’s something that happened to me too, to travel far, to escape, looking for my place in this world, looking for a place where I could feel at peace. The further I went in my journey the more lost I got, almost forgetting there were people who loved me.

Then I started to feel homesick, I started to ask myself if all that running away was the right thing to do, if it was worth something. I put a great distance between myself and my home country and just by doing so I could understand how precious were the small things and the bonds I had.

After many years of living abroad I had the need to put all these feelings into my music and ‘Fugitive’ is the result of it. After all there’s no place like home, and I’m glad to know that no matter how far I go to find myself, I always have a place where to return."
Fugitive has been mixed and mastered by Dino Medanhodzic (Normandie, Imminence, Smash Into Pieces). It can be purchased and streamed through the following online platforms:

Buy on iTunes
Buy on Amazon
Stream on Spotify
Stream on Deezer
Stream on Apple Music

Halflives will be hitting the road one last time in 2018 for a short run of shows in Europe in December. All the details can be found below on the tour poster. For ticket information, please visit the Halflives Facebook page.

Kate's Quest For a Baby Leads to Tension With Rana and a Proposition For Robert On Next Week's Coronation Street

(Picture: ITV)
It's fair to say Kate has caught a little bit of baby fever ever since the subject was brought up at her and Rana's engagement party. Whilst Rana isn't exactly thrilled by the idea of having kids, it is something she has been prepared to think about given she just wants to make Kate happy. Unfortunately Rana's hesitation just isn't something Kate is picking up on at the moment and next weeks episodes see that dialed up yet another notch.

On Monday Kate are Rana are left shocked to discover that the first round of IVF will cost £3,500, and when Rita mentions she wishes she'd had a child of her own it gets Johnny's mind going and he offers to pay for Kate and Rana to have the IUI treatment. That's something Kate is thrilled with but Rana is less enthusiastic.

Wednesday's first episode sees Kate and Rana visit a fertility treatment and Kate is giddy with excitement, but that's not not something Rana can match despite her attempts to feign it. As talk turns to the technicalities of it all, Kate and Rana agree Kate will be the one to carry the baby and Kate can't wait to get pregnant.

(Picture: ITV)
Kate is soon filling Johnny in on their trip to the clinic and Johnny's thrilled at the prospect of another grandchild, Rana masks her anxiety. However she does eventually bite the bullet and admit to Kate she's not happy with the idea of a complete stranger fathering their child, leaving Kate stunned. There has been speculation over whether Robert could act a the sperm donor instead, and Michelle does question him over whether kate's talk of babies is making him broody again but Robert covers and assures her he's over it.

Friday's episode sees things begin to come to a head for Kate and Rana, as Kate bursts into the medical centre and suggests that they instead adopt a baby. Rana understandably is angry at being hijacked at work, and orders Kate to leave.

Drowning her sorrows Kate then drunkenly suggests to Robert that he could father a baby for her and Rana. He tells Kate that her idea is crazy and sends her packing, but is that really the end of it or will he change his mind?

You can watch all of this unfold on next week's episodes of Coronation Street, and be sure to check back in with us post episode for our thoughts.
