Louise Aubrie Releases New Single 'On The Run'

Continuing promotion of her latest album When I Don’t Love You I’ll let You Know this spring, indie artist Louise Aubrie releases her second single: On The Run, which continues the theme of being inspire by, and lyrically based around Hollywood superstar Cary Grant.

As an artist who’s received radio play from BBC Radio 2 & 6 Music plus rave reviews from Louder Than War and New Noise, Aubrie continues to stir-up fascination and interest in her music, through her highly individual thematic inspirations.

This new single, On The Run explores themes of trust, especially when falling in love and references the Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn film Charade, in which Grant has four different aliases but this doesn’t hamper them falling in love.

With splashes of early Blondie, The Go Gos and other seminal bands from the post-punk era, On The Run is produced by Adam Ant drummer Andy Woodard and features tasteful guitar work from Morrissey MD & co-writer Boz Boorer – a talent who pioneered the British rockabilly movement with his band The Polecats.

Aubrie says of the release “it’s about trust and although most of the time we don’t actually know the whole truth about anyone, we’re still left trying to work out whether we can trust them and whether they’ll be there for us - something we can probably all relate to. Although the jumping off point was the movie, I see myself in the song and the people I love who are always ‘on the run’“.

Louise Aubrie is a London born and bred artist who splits her time between her hometown and New York City, bringing together her indie post-punk roots with rock and pop melodies.

Having built up a following on America’s East Coast playing venues like New York’s Bowery Electric & Rockwood Music Hall, Louise already has three albums behind her including a top 5 in the Digital Radio Tracker’s National US Airplay Independent Chart and the most requested release on LA’s Indie 104 station.

Now back in London, Louise is promoting her fourth album When I Don’t Love You I’ll Let You Know from where On The Run comes from. For more info & upcoming gigs please visit Louise’s website
