CONTROLRadioUK Picks 5 Songs You May Not Have Heard Of

Here at CONTROLRadioUK we're always on the look-out for music be it for the playlist, or just because we think the tracks are pretty neat so check out our picks below.

Couldn't pick a better way to start this week right? Showing this to CONTROLRadioUK HQ the reaction was 'Interesting', which I think sums this video up perfectly. I stumbled upon this through a recommendation and wasn't sure what to make of it. What's going on with the boy? What's up with the people in the car? Why is the video spent with different people in the car with the boy driving? Why are they sometimes miming in sync and other times out of place? What is with this video in general? The answer to all those questions I think is best left to interpretation and I like songs and videos that make you think. Thrice are an American rock band from Irvine, California, that formed in 1998.

First thing to say: Go and watch part 1 & 2 of the Blue Neighbourhood trilogy. We're not featuring them here but in its entirety it's the most hauntingly beautiful thing I have watched this year (and I've watched a lot of stuff). It truly is incredible and as heartbreaking as it is, I can watch the trilogy over and over again because it's what I want from music and the videos that accompany them - a story that gets me at my core and never bores. Troye Sivan is a South African born Australian singer/songwriter/actor/Youtuber and for someone so young to craft such a story in a music video? Amazing.

Continuing the trend of fine stories to accompany a fine track, if you've never been with someone you've suspected or know is cheating then you're a rare lucky person. But for the rest of us this story is unfortunately all too common. Stating the obvious by now, but for those of you who are new, I am a big fan of scenery. Combine that with the above and you are onto a winner with me. If you have the attitude that this song has, well that's just the cherry on top. Anne-Marie is an English singer/songwriter you've probably heard of as she's with Rudimental, and she is definitely one to watch this year.

Our second song of the week to focus on those pesky matters of heartbreak and relationship issues, albeit in a different respect which is what makes this song so interesting and the lyircs really resonate. We've again got that scenery that I love so much, video matching the lyrics and a delicious beat that runs through the song just in case the rest doesn't hold attention. Astrid S is a Norwegian Singer/Songwriter.

Our last pick of the week doesn't need introduction. You know who Christina Aguilera is. The lyrics of this song and the lyric video that accompanies says all that needs to be said. Just press play and let the message of the song sink over you.
