INDYA are described as "Glam Rock/Metal” and are from Brighton, UK.
Natalie Indya West studied Music & Dance at the Brit School for Performing Arts & Technology in Selhurst Croydon. She then furthered her music training at Colins Performing Arts College, Romford, Essex.
Natalie formed "INDYA" in early January 2015 naming the rock band after her middle name, meaning “gorgeous person" She couldn’t decide on a name for her band, and decided her middle name was catchy and memorable.
Natalie's music has proven to be dark, yet vibrant & full of energy. But also at the same time, very alluring with sex appeal. The songs convey real life events of Natalie's life that have been sad but cleverly reversed around into an upbeat tempo.
Influences include Joan Jett, Marilyn Manson, Deep Purple & Madonna. Natalie has used these influences within her own music, arranging her songs into a raunchy spectacle creating a Taboo Rock n Roll style of her own.
Indya's first EP - "Strip Me Down" had hundreds of plays on Kerrang! Radio, Total Rock, Radio X - with rave reviews!
Indya has won the hearts of many rock presenters who love the singer's music. One of which is presenter Johnny Doom on Kerrang! Radio who appeared in Indya's music video for her last single "Tha Final Line”
