Veronica Mars Revived By Hulu

UPDATE:

Kristin Bell has now confirmed the new series of Veronica Mars is coming via Hulu

Hulu has picked up eight episodes of Veronica Mars to air in 2019. The new season will once again delve into the class divide in Neptune, Calif., that ran throughout the original series. Spring breakers are being murdered, imperiling Neptune's tourist industry. The family of one victim hires Mars Investigations to find their son's killer, and Veronica is drawn into a mystery that pits the town's wealthy "09ers," who'd just as soon see the spring break crowd go away, and working-class residents who rely on the money spring break partiers spend.

Creator Rob Thomas will write the first episode of the new season and executive produce with Bell and series veterans Diane Ruggiero-Wright and Dan Etheridge. No other cast is attached yet.

In breaking TV news this evening, Hulu are in talks to revive Kristen Bell's Veronica Mars. The streaming platform is currently finalizing deals for the new installment, which would see Kristin Bell reprise her role. Discussions are also underway to bring make a number of other cast members from the original show and followup movie.

Kristin Bell is of course attached to NBC's The Good Place but Veronica Mars would not interfere with filming.

For those unfamiliar, Veronica Mars followed a California teen sleuth and student (Bell) who moonlit as a private investigator under the tutelage of her detective father (Enrico Colantoni). The series premiered in 2004 and ran for two seasons on UPN, and then ran for another season on The CW before being canceled.
