New Music Fridays

Here at CONTROLRadioUK we're always on the look-out for music be it for the playlist, or just because we think the tracks are pretty neat. And on New Music Friday, we're bringing you a select choice of the freshest tracks released this week.

They might be known for their more anthemic Rock numbers, but Imagine Dragons know how to produce those ballads that hit us in our core. With heartfelt lyrics accompanying a somber tone that gradually builds into the songs climax 'Next To Me' might just be the most beautiful song Imagine Dragons have done. And the cover art that accompanies the track is pretty top notch as well, very much fitting with the atmosphere of the song.

You may have seen us mention Lullaby in our New Releases article. DJ and Record Producer Sigala has combined with Paloma Faith to bring us a might fine tune. This is Paloma Faith's second dance song, having previously teamed up with Sigma in 2014 for Changing which was quite the belter. Paloma most definitely has the voice for the Pop/Dance market, so one can only hope for some more collabs in the future.

Excusing the pun, but this song is very much Heavenly. It's a wonderfully uplifting Pop/Rock number from start to finish, which isn't surprising at all considering I'm yet to come across a Pale Waves song I don't like. The only possible complaint would be that the song is so short.

Continuing with the dance theme this week is this new belter from David Guetta, Martin Garrix and Brooks. Considering Guetta & Garrix are two of the most in demand DJ's in the world, that's not really a surprise. But considering the market is laden with Pop/Electric/EDM songs, the fact Like I Do manages to sound so fresh is impressive. From start to finish it's an absolute ride and this is one of those songs you will be breaking the replay button on.

Another song mentioned in our New Releases article, Shadow is Alexandra Burke's first song in 6 years. It really is quite hard to believe that she's been away for so long, but Shadow is a great comeback song. The album The Truth Is comes out 16th March and Alexandra will also be embarked on a UK Tour beginning the 1st September, which you can buy tickets for now.
