CONTROLRadioUK Picks 5 Songs You May Not Have Heard Of

Here at CONTROLRadioUK we're always on the look-out for music be it for the playlist, or just because we think the tracks are pretty neat so check out our picks below.

Is this real life, or just a fantasy? Thankfully it's very much the first one. You may not know this but I am a bit of a fan of Allie X. I may have mentioned once or twice that she is criminally under-rated and I am yet to hear a song of hers that I don't like, and 'Paper Love' continues that. It's not as in your face as 'All The Rage' or have an addictive beat like 'That's So Us', but it's still a pretty great track. Even better news? CollXtion II is out on the 7th of June which isn't information you need to tell me twice.

We have had a lot of fantastic music drop of late, and that is not something I'm complaining about. Lyrically this song has a decent enough message to it but musically? It doesn't go anywhere at all. Not low, not high, not even mid-range; it's stuck on the exact same note all the way through. In fact the song is so one-note that the only way you know it's ended is after sitting in silence for a minute, wondering if your computers broken down because you're now sitting in silence. No point having decent lyrics if you don't have a good beat to accompany it.

We're now approaching summer. Which as I've mentioned previously means dance songs are going to take over the waves. 99% of them aren't going to be any good, in fact they'll be downright awful, but overplayed to such an extent that we learn to like them simply because there's no other music to save us. With all this in mind consider this song a rarity of one that you will not hate. It's got a really nice airy feeling to it, the scenery mixed into the video is nice to look at, the lyrics aren't bad and listening to this will take you to that lovely sandy beach you're yearning for.

Give a song a chance and it will blow your mind. That is the moral to this story and something my dear people at CONTROLRadioUK HQ discovered, before they like me got their groove on. I can't really find words to describe how much I love this song which is always a good thing. Lyrically this is fantastic and musically? It's absolute paradise. This song follows the basic formula of music; start off low, hit the mids in the pre-chorus and then smash you round the head with genius in the chorus and repeat. It's so simple, so easy, and yet so many Artists for some reason scientists are still trying to figure out struggle and give us duds. Thankfully Nothing But Thieves is not one of them and this song will continue to be on repeat for the next month. Nothing But Thieves are an Alternative English Rock band and their new album 'Broken Machine' is due to be released soon.

I don't know who told Paramore they had the right to give us two magnificent songs in a matter of weeks, but I am not complaining and neither should you.
