CONTROLRadioUK Picks 5 Songs You May Not Have Heard Of

Here at CONTROLRadioUK we're always on the look-out for music be it for the playlist, or just because we think the tracks are pretty neat. Check out our picks below and feel free to leave a comment on your top songs.

This video is awesome. Paired with an awesome song and you've got yourself an awesome sandwich, so how can you go wrong? It's seriously a fantastic visual I don't want to look away from for a second. Obviously Coldplay are a band you've heard of but if you haven't watched the video yet, you're missing an absolute treat. Coldplay are a British band that was formed in 1996. I've been a fan for many years and every album they somehow manage to top their previous work.

I walked into my living room to discover my cat had once again changed the channel and this was on the TV. I immediately knew it was The Last Shadow Puppets. I haven't listened to many of their songs because it's not my type of music, but the video grabbed me with its simplicty and humor (I cannot get over the dancing). The Last Shadow Puppets are a British group formed in 2007.

Many will recognise Grace from her cover of 'You Don't Own Me' that was playing in an ad over Christmas. I got bored of it and the rap added in very quickly, finding the original to be a far superior version. But you shouldn't write people off too soon, one song does not neccesarily define their whole sound and Grace proves that here. I love storytelling so music videos which actually match the lyrics of the song are a big plus with me, and the sound is reminiscent of the 50's/60's. Grace is an Australian singer/songwriter from Brisbane.

Sometimes videos will be on the TV and you'll immediately switch the channel. Sometimes videos will be on that look slightly interesting so you keep them on for a few seconds, which turns into 4 minutes and you walk away thinking 'That sounded pretty good'. M.O are an example of that. The undertone beats are somewhat tribal, reminding me of carnival. The lyrics aren't the greatest but the video's fun and so is the song on a whole. As long as I can enjoy it on some level, can't really complain too much. M.O are a British female trio formed in late 2012.

This video is one that like Coldplay, I could watch all day because it is beautiful. Again you can't go wrong with a video that matches the lyrics. The sound is a mixture of folk/indie/pop and I do love when different genre's are brought together. Sara Hartman is an American from New York.
