Neon Saturdays NEW SINGLE 'NEW SINGLE 'Phoenix' Out Now From Their New Album "Freaks In The Ocean" Out 9th November

One of the hottest new acts from Baltic states, Neon Saturdays have returned this autumn with their new single “Phoenix”. The song is loaded with warm summer vibes and will definitely find favour with those who already dread the cold and windy days ahead. And yet there’s so much more to this new tune by the promising Latvian four-piece.

“We had a lot of time to contemplate and discuss issues of human nature, social dynamics and above all – the importance of love while going through the creative process,” comments vocalist Andris Evelis.

“All of this reminded us that our ambitions and actions are primarily guided by our need to be loved – to be safe in the knowledge that the missing piece of the puzzle is not really missing,” continues Edvins Rakickis who wrote the lyrics for the song.

A thought-provoking love story

While the song speaks about the struggle to find happiness in the modern world, plagued by social polarization, the music video takes us through a day in the lives of two girls who fall in love.

“Playing around the myth of the Phoenix seemed appropriate here. Thus, we did a modern take on it in the music video. It was clear from the start that we needed actors who would play a couple to tell this story visually and I insisted that we portray a female couple because I felt that feminine energy had to dominate in this story,” said Rakickis.

“Since we chose to portray a same-sex couple it was important for us to concentrate on the romantic aspects of this relationship in the video. I think that one of the central errors of homophobia is the perception that it is mainly sexual desire that drives people forward while in reality, love and need to be valued and accepted is the reason all of us do most things in life, I think,” added Martins Rudzitis.
Available everywhere on Friday 28th September, Neon Saturdays have unveiled the video for the track, which was recorded and produced together with Scottish production genius Lewis Gardiner who has been working with the band for some time now.

Gardiner had previously made a name for himself working with Ellie Goulding and the winner of 2016 British X Factor Matt Terry.

Talented and well-known sound engineer Andy “Hippy” Baldwin from Metropolis studios was recruited to lay on some finishing touches. Baldwin has previously worked with acts like Oasis, Robbie Williams and The Who.

Second full-length album coming soon

The band has also announced that the third single together with their second full-length album titled Freaks In The Ocean will be released in November 9th.

Their previous single “Get Up” was released back in April and found its way to numerous radio stations in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, UK and the Baltics.

The band released their debut album in 2012. Since then a number of singles, made it to the TOP10 of the biggest Baltic radio stations after which Neon Saturdays toured the Baltic states as well as UK a couple of times.

In 2015 Neon Saturdays was one of the first Latvian acts to play The Great Escape in UK. In 2016 the band opened for the British rock band James.

In July 2018 the band opened for the American singer LP (Laura Pergolizzi) in Latvia, playing for over 4000 people.

Laurina Sue NEW SINGLE 'Dark Side' Out Now

For lovers of Indie rock and gutsy female vocals, take a listen to Laurina Sue’s debut single Dark Side.

Laurina Sue is an emerging music artist from Fremantle, Western Australia. Her debut track Dark Side is the start of her solo project after gigging locally with bands and working as a session musician.

Laurina writes and produces her own tracks, plays guitar, piano, synth, drums, sings and shouts! A prolific and eclectic songwriter who likes to experiment particularly in the alternative rock, pop, folk and electronic realms.

Laurina Sue’s songwriting and vocal talent was recently described by Adele’s Music director, Tim Van Der Kuil as “Brilliantly quirky and totally original” after telling her to “Keep doing whatever it is that you’re doing…”. She then decided to embark on her solo journey. One year later she is ready to rock with a pumping track, recorded near the sunny shores of Fremantle WA.

Her debut single Dark Side is uptempo and high energy, inspired by 80s synth pop fused with contemporary rock and a killer chorus. Think The Divinyls, The Pretenders, The Jezabels, The Preatures , The Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Laurina Sue says the new track is about wanting to escape from a mundane real life to a fantasy side, which she calls her dark side. “The lyrics represent an existential awakening for me… The dark side isn’t necessarily dark or weird, its more exciting, uplifting and a touch mysterious.… Its all about constant momentum and that feeling of liberation when you take the bull by the horns”.

The Fireflys NEW SINGLE 'This House Is Ours' OUT NOW

“It's always love and loss, I can’t seem to escape writing about it,” says Fireflys frontman Lee Wylding of his compositions. “I think it's because everyone knows how they feel.”

Wylding’s work is so redolent with emotion and heart, even though everyone does indeed know how love and loss feel, now they’re going to know how they sound.

Falling somewhere between the Counting Crows, the Jayhawks and Grand Drive, The Fireflys play a moving blend of road-weary rock and roll and shimmering Americana, all punctuated by the heartfelt poeticism of Wylding’s lyrics.

Robert Frost once observed that fireflies, “Achieve at times a very star-like start” and 2018 has found the band making a noticeable surge as of late. Manchester United play their music before their matches, they’ve supported Noel Gallagher, Ocean Colour Scene and Icicle Works and “Runaway” recently landed at #1 on Amazon and #5 on iTunes.

This House Is Ours is the latest single release taken from the bands upcoming 5th album “Only Us, Northern Lights” due for release early 2019 on Strawberry Moon records.

The Fireflys are an alternative/folk-rock indie band from Runcorn, North-West England. The band are Lee Wylding (vocals/guitar), Sam Bramhall (bass), Chris Tann (piano), Andie Packer (drums) & Joe Paul Forber (acoustic guitar).

"From breakups to breakdowns, Lee Wylding knows that the heart is always getting a workout. But battered and bruised as it may be, his songs are always punctuated by a ferocious resolve to find the fight that lurks beneath the wreckage. Burning with optimism and hope, Wylding is the perfect tour guide to not only get you out of the ravine and into the sunlight, but to get you back into the world
feeling more alive than ever…" Alex Green, Stereo Embers Magazine

The Magic Es NEW SINGLE 'Fine Lines' Out Now

THE MAGIC ES RETURN WITH NEW SINGLE ‘FINE LINES’

Following a UK tour and radio support across Europe and the USA, Ipswich rockn’roll band The Magic Es are back with their latest single Fine Lines.

The melodic new indie-rock track is out now on Spotify and Apple Music via Oh Mercy! Records, and follows their recent singles Wishing Well and Nothing In Your Way.

Listen to Fine Lines on Soundcloud here now.

“I've got a friend who used to fall in love way too easily with the wrong sort of women. This song was inspired by him and his old antics,” explains frontman Pete
Thompson. “It's about two people who know they aren't good for each other-their friends tell them often enough and they're always arguing with a drama is just round the corner. The trouble is they can't be apart as they need the madness of the relationship. If it's not, their life is just too dull!”

Since forming in 2014, The Magic Es have been busy. All lifelong musicians with world tours, top 40 singles and a wealth of musical experience under their belts, the boys came together after a chance meeting at a wedding led to them finding common ground in the simple pleasures of classic records.

Fittingly for a band steeped in 60’s pop and classic rock, they’ve adopted a similar work ethic to their musical heroes - releasing a string of singles and a debut album in the last two years and picking up acclaim from XS Noize, GigSlutz, Songwriting Magazine, BBC Radio and many more in the process.

Jake Morley NEW SINGLE Heart Song Out Now + Live Dates

Singer, songwriter and virtuoso guitar player Jake Morley is a firm believer in straight talking, direct songs. His Spotify playlist, ‘Tell It To Me Straight’, a collection of some of his favorite examples by other artists, is a constant source of inspiration.

Now he’s recording a series of his own stripped-back songs featuring just voice and his extraordinary guitar playing. They will be released one by one over the coming months though Sandwich Emporium Records. In the autumn he performs at 20 of the UK’s most intimate venues from the Highlands to Devon, from Wales to East Anglia.

At the heart of Jake’s music are tender, poetic, heartfelt lyrics that showcase his talent for putting a twist on the everyday, crystalizing what many may think but are unable to say. Every emotion - whether dark feelings of obsession, fear, loss or inadequacy, or simply just feeling foolish or overwhelmingly happy without an obvious reason - are all fair game for Morley’s disarming honesty. Featuring his remarkable ability to make a guitar sound like a piano, drums or a harp, these immaculate new recordings (produced by Grammy nominated producer Calum MacColl) are as elemental and starkly beautiful as they come.

Jake says
“I like songs that treat you like an equal, that say exactly what they mean without over-complicating things. It sounds simple, but it’s as demanding as any song writing - possibly more so. When you strip everything back you remove the barrier between the song and the listener so there’s nowhere for the artist to hide. It was the same principle when we picked the most up-close and intimate venues we could find for the tour. I want to minimize the divisions between the stage and the audience, so it’ll just be them, the songs and me.”

Background:
Jake has had airplay on Radio 2, 6 Music, numerous local and overseas radio stations. He’s played hundreds of gigs around the world and opened for Ed Sheeran, Ben Howard, Lucy Rose, The Hoosiers and guitar hero Joe Bonamassa. Overseas representation for management and live booking across North America mean Jake will be touring USA and Canada again in 2019.

Sounds Like:

Press and radio have compared him to Elbow, Bear’s Den, Gotye and Alt-J, but Jake Morley stands on his own as one of the UK’s most distinctive and original songwriters at the top of his game.

“We won’t be remotely surprised if Jake Morley has a hit” Guardian ‘New Band of the Day’

"Great real-life lyrics and superb virtuoso playing. That's extraordinary!” Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music

“Morley is a true original” Acoustic Magazine

Eoin Glackin NEW SINGLE 'Fresh Air ' Out Now

Fresh Air is the brand new single from Dublin’s Eoin Glackin. (pronounced Owen) An artist Ed Sheeran once described as “Smashing it”. Eoin himself explains “I was inspired to push the remix further by Reckoning Song (One Day) by Asaf Avidan. He had a massive hit all over Europe a few years ago with the dance remix, when the original was an acoustic folky ballad”. Eoin himself explains “I was inspired to push the remix further by Reckoning Song (One Day) by Asaf Avidan. He had a massive hit all over Europe a few years ago with the dance remix, when the original was an acoustic folky ballad”.

Born and raised in Dublin, Eoin was a curious kid into music and sci-fi but being the youngest of 3 brothers he found himself following their lead.

Stylistically part classic country and part rock opera, drawing on varied influences like Johnny Cash and Meatloaf. The new album Fires of Innocence was both written and produced in stages over the course of a year, a new approach for Eoin.

“I’ve usually just booked a block of studio time, gone in and recorded and whatever was there when we ran out of studio time, was it. With Karl we would do a session, leave it, live with it, maybe rework something, come back and do it again if we needed to. It was all very natural and organic with no restrictions on time. When it felt right, it was right. There is a whole heap of new songs recorded that got left off this time around too”.

Although country music doesn’t seem a natural fit for a Dublin city kid, Eoin was reared on it. In fact one of Irish country music’s biggest sensations, Derek Ryan and himself have been close writing partners for years.

The rock sensibilities of some of Glackin’s earlier releases are still also very much evident, with driving guitars and anthemic choruses a staple of the album. Look no further than “Way About You” for a good old rock and roll sing-song .

The themes and stories of Fires of Innocence, have their place in the personal and the political. The correlation between the tumultuous political landscape of the west and the personal searching of a young man trying to find his place in his own world are undeniable. Songs like “High King Falls”, “Barabbas Walks Free” and “Fresh AF” are head on challenges to the societal structures we accept every day; Who are the good guys? Who are the bad? What happens when the lines between the hard left and hard right blur? What does it mean when everyone is “safe” but nobody has a choice?

Songs like “Wear It While You Can”, “Eva” and “Hold the Line” are the personal answers to these worries.

“Smashing it” – Ed Sheeran

“Eoin’s lyrical imagery make me feel like I’m watching a movie in my mind” – Damien Dempsey

“His songs make an instant connection” – The Independent

“A genuine talent” – Dan Hawkins (The Darkness)

“Some of the best lyrics almost any listener will have heard” – Fatea Magazine

HAVOC51 NEW SINGLE 'Weekend' From Debut Album Out Now

Havoc51 came to fruition three years ago with Antony and Steve along with a different drummer who was the son of a friend. They did small shows throughout the UK but never really pushed things. The turning point was when the band entered the 'Hard Rock Live' competition and came second by one point in three hundred. That gave the lads the belief and confidence that the way they play and the strength of their song writing were good enough for the bigger stage and they then decided to push this as far as possible. "Sadly, that meant losing our original drummer and Paul has stepped in perfectly and we’re sounding fuller and tighter than ever," says Nixon.

The live shows are going really well for the chaps. "When we’re 'self-sufficient' which is when we turn up with our sound and our lighting etc., we invested in giving a great experience when you come to see us. Having said that we’ve concentrated on the smaller festivals this Summer and that’s a different experience entirely. It gives us focus on how to make the best use of our time slot and push ourselves to build our fan base. They can be a lot more fun when you have more space to go crazy and relax into it. We want to gain experience on these bigger stages and hone our craft. It’s an upward spiral to us, We do better, audiences react better, we feed off that and they feed off us," he explains to me. 'Bourbon Ramblings' was recorded in the 'Vaults' studio Warrington between Christmas last year and April this year. It was produced and engineered by a guy called Mike Pilat who is not only a wizard behind the desk but an exceptional musician on drums, guitar, bass and vocally.

The band wanted something quite heavy sounding but still conveying subtlety of the musicianship. "We loved the stuff he’s recorded and his live sound with 'Herod' is immense," says Nixon. "He’s brought out things in us musically and vocally that we didn’t think we had in us and has contributed to the arrangement on a couple of tracks." The band's main focus is to get the word out regarding 'Bourbon Ramblings', and to enjoy the festivals this Summer. "It’s likely that we put together a small UK based tour for the Autumn and re-group at the end of the year to plan our direction. We have a lot of music written and it maybe we will get that down in the Winter. There are plans to do a couple of videos for tracks on 'Bourbon Ramblings' and we have meetings planned with the production team to plan those out. Obviously, we want to do much more in the next year and we will be speaking to our contacts to do a lot more shows and bigger shows in 2019. The album has been picked up by a few European radio stations, particularly in France and Spain so we’d love to expand and convert more 'havocaholics' on the continent.

From Warrington, England, we find classic rock trio HAVOC51 who have a fabulous new nine track CD out now called 'Bourbon Ramblings' which runs in at just over forty minutes long and is the band’s debut release. Havoc51are: Steve Nixon – guitars and lead vocals, Antony Nixon – bass and backing vocals, and drummer Paul Smith.

As a kid guitarist and singer Steve Nixon had neighbours who had just got one of those record players that came in a suitcase and some 45’s. As soon as he heard the rawness of the tracks from Quo, Purple, Sabbath, and Zeppelin, the young musician knew that’s what he wanted to do. "I was spoiled with genius everywhere and burned through turntables learning it," he says.

Drummer Paul Smith's route was a little different. He grew up listening to anything from Adam and the Ants to The Who and Zeppelin. Always wanting to try drums he studied local bands as well as his heroes at the big festivals in the eighties and nineties. Paul then got his first chance at the age of eighteen buying his first drum kit, joined his first band and was gigging at nineteen and has built up a fantastic reputation since then.

Bassist Antony Nixon comes from a very musical family, so it was inevitable that he would play an instrument. Going from piano to guitar but never settled. On hearing 'Hysteria' by Muse he was hooked on bass and knew that was where his passion lies.

Paul brings his influence from the Bonham’s and Moon’s of this world and this just blends in to what we do completely," he explains to me. Antony is very much into Chris Wolstenholme from Muse, and you can hear that clearly when the bass is prominent. "When he dug deeper into the bass you can hear touches of John Paul Jones in “Serenity” and “No Way”. Who knows the next album may have some Flea stylings or from something influenced the mighty Stu Hamm."

All the guys in the band work very very hard and they are all family men so that takes a lot of their time up. "One thing that binds us is we are all massive Rugby League fans. Coming from Warrington it’s embedded in you from an early age, playing and watching. Antony progressed to the team’s academy. We have been very lucky in that we have built a relationship with the club and we were the first band to play live on the pitch to 15,000 two years ago. We still play there a couple of times a year for their beer festivals etc..," he smiles.

“Shake Ya Pants is a light hearted and fun tune about being comfortable in your own skin. It's kinda like a fun pep talk, encouraging somebody to be themselves when they may lack self confidence. I debuted an extended version of the track live for the audience at my Howler show back in July and they loved it. I've been looking forward to putting this out ever since!” - Harts

Harts went independent for his 2014 long-player, Daydreamer, a ten-track collection of guitar-heavy electro-funk jams that drew praise from Prince Rogers Nelson himself, who noted that Hart's full-length debut reminded him "of how I was at that age”. It was later revealed that Harts had traveled to Prince's Paisley Park compound earlier in the year for a meet-and-greet/jam session.

2015 saw Harts release his second EP titled Breakthrough, which featured two Triple J #1 played songs When a Man’s A Fool and the title track Breakthrough. Harts was approached by Subaru for an experimental creative campaign in which the 2016 WRX model car was fitted with the guitarists Wah-Wah pedal as the accelerator. The campaign reached hundreds of thousands of people and helped cement Harts as Australia’s new guitar hero. 2015 also saw Harts play shows in both Hong Kong and Thailand.

Harts joined the ranks at Universal for his sophomore LP, 2016's Smoke Fire Hope Desire, which was issued in the United States the following year via Razor & Tie. The album earned much praise and accolades including being awarded Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the GQ Australia Men Of The Year Awards, being invited to collaborate on a song with The Roots & Lenny Kravitz for the official 2016 Olympic Games Campaign and gaining major radio airplay including landing Triple J’s Album of the Week. 2016 saw Harts visit Europe and play shows in Amsterdam, Paris, London and Berlin as well as a festival slot at Pink Pop in the Netherlands.

Departing Australia to pursue career opportunities in the U.S for the majority of 2017, Harts reached a wider audience via American television when his song Power featured in the DC Comics NBC sitcom Powerless, and also landed a video premiere for the single Peculiar on Conan O’Brien’s digital channel Team Coco. Harts toured the U.S including shows in San Francisco, New York, and LA. He also performed at Chicago’s Wicker Park Festival and LouFest Music Festival in St Louis.

2018 has already seen Harts land huge features such as playing guitar with Joey Bada$$ for Triple J’s Like A Version and rocking 80,000 people at the MCG with Peking Duk for the NRL State of Origin pre-game entertainment. He also wrapped up two huge sets at Bluesfest and premiered a brand new expanded live band for a special sold-out show at Howler in Melbourne in July. Harts has recently released singles Ain’t Nothin’ On Me, 21&19 and Wishfulness all of which are set to feature on his upcoming album due later this year, along with Shake Ya Pants.

'Shake Ya Pants' is now available in digital stores.

Sophie Is Left With A Difficult Decision To Make Whilst Ryan Faces The Consequences Of His Actions On Next Week's Coronation Street

With Sally currently languishing behind bars, tonight's Coronation Street saw Tim head off to Bradford to do some digging on Duncan whilst Gina paid Sally a visit in prison and attempted to defend Tim.

The drama unfortunately doesn't stop there for Sophie, as next week finds her dragged further into Ryan and Ali's problems after Cormac dies.

Next Monday's episode sees Ryan ask Sophie to lie for him, as he sticks to his story that he left the flat and came back to find Cormac dead. He tells Sophie he panicked and didn't call an ambulance, and asks her to back up his version of events.

Sophie's left with a massive decision to make as the police call at Speed Daal to ask her about Cormac's death; will she back Ryan's version of events? Ronan meanwhile comes to thank Ryan, Ali and Michelle for all they did for Cormac which leaves them squirming.

Wednesday's episode sees Ryan's pleas fall on deaf ears as Robert shows him and Michelle a report about the drug dealer that supplied Cormac being found dead. Whilst Ryan blames himself for both deaths, Paula insists that Sophie must go and tell the truth.

In fear of Ronan, Ryan reveals he's going to do a runner and suggests that Ali do the same. He however refuses and when the police arrive and find a bag of pills in Ryan's coat pocket, his plans are thwarted and he's arrested.

Friday's episode sees Weatherfield's only resident lawyer spring to the case once again as Imran represents Ryan in his police interview. Ryan admits the truth about how he delayed calling the ambulance, and the police warn if the pills found in his pocket match those that killed Cormac, he's in serious trouble. That's not Ryan's only issue though as Ronan menacingly tells Michelle he'll be waiting for Ryan when he gets out.

When Ryan discovers Ronan's been looking for him, he deliberately smashes up the police waiting room and kicks an officer to ensure he's locked up again.

With Ronan showing no sign of leaving quietly, will Ryan be able to get himself out of this mess?
